We can survive without Skrtel against Barnsley surely? If Hyppia, Arbeloa & Agger are still injured (which I assume they still are), just put Hobbs in with Carra. Surely Carra & Hobbs could handle their strikers?!

We do seem to have a lot of young CBs knocking about one of Huth, San Jose, Ayala et al. must be up to a run out against lower league opposition you would think. Or the occasionally mooted and always mildly amusing idea of Riise at CB with Insua on the left might be a possibility if we are desperate to let them know we have no confidence in them

Their league position may not be reflective of their quality as they did a fair amount of business with decent players coming in during the transfer window and recently beat West Brom. They have however only got a keeper in in the last week.
