Yes he is pretty good but not the same type.

IMO this is the most difficult position to fill.

Javier Mascherano? not sure how his west ham deal works but i'm sure he wont be there for long.

Our problem today was in front of goal. I would bring in a world class striker.

He is not as level headed but he is still young. Good call though.

It's not really one of those world renowned positions, and I think it's a position that a player can only fill with age as it's a position that you would grow into. Needs an intelligent player who can read the game, lets not forget Hamman never got any recognition for a long time, even after he came to us it took years. Hargreaves was lambasted for years by idiots who didn't know what they were talking about, and if you look at other defensive mid players they are all nearing the end of their careers, Gattuso, Emerson, Baraja, Makelele etc

Might have made a difference had Chelsea accepted our offer for Duff or we'd got Alves, who knows? Come January I expect to see us try to sign Alves again but all this is a long way away.

Just got me thinkin that we could loose him for a bit in 2008 if Mali qualify for the African Nations couldn't we.

possibly, but the rate rafa is improving us, I reckon we will be able to cope quite comfortably

One thing I did notice today, the "world class striker" on the pitch, Shevchenko, was piss poor....
