You wont get far with comments like that around here

And that last line sums it up for me, you'll never 'turn on him' (as you put it) because of Istanbul. Whatever he does, whatever happens...he's untouchable to you.

Sums up my view that for some, nothing is ever his fault, he can do no wrong and he should stay forever.
DJ, you provoke, misquote, misinterpret and twist. I have loyalty to a man who has brought us success, who loves our club, who, heaven knows why, loves our supporters, and who was looking good this season until the club imploded due to the Americans. I have shown myself often willing to criticise. You have shown yourself unwilling to see the Rafa proponents' side. I have seen what Rafa can do, I admit that he's not doing it now, but there are very extenuating circumstances. At the turn of the year I was excited that we looked like 2008 could be the year. I am not so fickle that I will turn on somebody who has done so much for the club in 6 weeks. You are. I refuse to waste any time on further distortions of this viewpoint, especially not from somebody who proposes slime over class.
I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine.

I have seen what he can do too, and what he cant do. And there's never been any evidence to sugges the can make a proper PL challenge.

I propose that LFC appoint the man who's managerial ability gives him the best chance of guiding the club to success. I fail to see what is wrong with that.

I've had doubts before, but i stuck by him for a considerable period of time. Unfortunately though, i DO have a point where i can see it's not going to happen for him. You dont seem to.

You genuinely DO come across as though there's nothing that could happen, that would make you want him replaced. That's why i say that to some, nothing's ever his fault. There genuinely doesnt seem to be ANYTHING that could happen, that'd make you decide enough is enough.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but any signs of wanting him replaced equate to disloyalty, for you. By that token, and the fact that you consider yourself to be loyal, you'll never want him replaced...regardless.

I'm not turning on the manager, far from it, i;m still in two minds about Rafa myself. It's the players that are making my blood boil atm, it's there fault they keep ****ing up against teams we should be beating no problem.
Players today get far too much protection.

Seems that 'our' beloved Liverpool is falling apart both inside and out.

              Never would have believed it.

I guess this come part and parcel with 'branding'.

              And they call it progress?

I bet you were wetting yourself with excitement after we got the 82points in 2006. He showed that season and until the Reading game this season that he can cut it in the league.
Lets not forget there has been no stability at the club at boardroom level since he arrived. If you listen to any manager speak they always preach the total importance of stability at the top.

                  Two problems though mate...

82 points isnt a genuine title challenge.

The reading game was only halfway through the season and the season lasts 38 games.

There is no stability in the TEAM, let alone the board room. The board room stuff is out of his hands. The stuff that IS in his hands, he messes up. Stability at the top is helpful. Stability in the team is crucial. He needs to realise the latter.

Rubbish mate, absolute rubbish. That would win the league more often than not.

edit, ok slight exaggeration but that's at least 2nd place every season and would have won it 6 or 7 times

Not in the last few years it wouldnt mate.

                      Last few years:

                      89
                      91
                      95
                      90
                      83
                      87
                      80
                      91
                      79

So, in the last NINE years, 82 points would've won you the title....twice. Whereas seven times, it wouldnt have done.

Not quite true to say that 82 points "would win the league more often than not", is it?

See above DJS. But you catch my drift. 82 points is a challenge.

Still not sure where you've got 6 or 7 times mate. In the last 9 years, it would've won it twice. 22% of the time.

You could argue it's a 'challenge' i guess, but that's also dependent on how many points the winners have amassed. If they've got 95, then 82 isnt what i'd call a challenge.

But ok, even if we call it a challenge, rafa's achieved that one season out of 4. It's still the exception, rather than the rule.

There isn't any evidence. I don't deny that the football we're playing is poor but I'm not the type of person to get on a downer about it, at least not for a long time. I know not everyone is the same as me I appreciate that. I was pissed off for a while after the game yesterday but we'll pull through this.

I understand that you must be pissed off with the current state of affairs and I don't blame you but keep your head up man. We're Liverpool fans at the end of the day, it's in times like these we need to unite and keep supporting the team. If Rafa ends up going or being sacked fair enough, but for the time being he's still our manager and he and the players need our backing, more so now than ever.

It's a fine line between wanting the manager changed because you feel he isnt doing the club any good....and ceasing to 'support'. I dont know how i'd categorise it.

I've seen some fans saying they want us to lose to Inter, so Rafa gets the boot. That's absurd and i'd never want us to lose any match, ever.

So my take is that i still support the club, i still want them to win, and i still want the manager to succeed. I dont think he ultimately will though and while i dont go to the match and express feelings of wanting him out, i do want the club managed by someone who i feel will take it forward - and i dont think that's Rafa, i'm sad to say.
