    Rant Commences:

to those that want rafa gone:

rafa has had some decent buys and some bad ones sure. Which manager hasnt? the problem is the budget he has to play with and the number of players he has to get from that. and that's his handicap. the football isnt boring, its pressure football and will get better as more quality is added into the first 11. as we see with torres and in flashes with babel and alonso.

Was the squad he inherited good enough? has he had a chelski budget to revamp a squad? did he have a solid youth setup with classy youngsters feeding through each season? Does he have the backing of a highly profitable business? Has he had a decade to mould the club as he wants? NO to all of that.

That is why he is at a serious disadvantage to all of the top 3 and why we are the 4th best team in the country. we are definitely closer to spurs, villa and man city than we are to them. but we punch well for our weight. you take that for granted and assume we're entitled to wipe the floor with teams that cost twice what ours did. what planet are you on?

    What has he done?
Win the CL and been finalistst. Finished 3rd twice and 4 twice (hopefully). Won the FA too. Revamped the whole squad and invested heavily in youth. he's bought players that whilst they turned out to be not quite good enough, he was able to sell on at little loss.

sure pennant is not a world beater, but he's good enough on his day in a team that is playing well. he's caused some top sides some big problems - chelsea and milan off the top off my head. sure he's due to be replaced by someone top drawer but if there's no money, how's any manager going to do that? same goes for crouch and for kuyt, arbeloa, benayoun. the list can go on. these are all sub 10 mill players who you are expecting to be world beaters. why did we buy them? because we needed new blood in those positions and had 25mill to spend in total. thats the region of chelski & utd blow on one player. this is the story of our whole squad. only now are we in a position to buy the likes of torres & masher to complement what is already a decent first 11. Now we're in a position where we can swap like for like budget wise for the squad (sissoko for lucas) and add a world class player each season. you remember the dead wood he had to clear out don't you? heskey, diao, biscan, traore, cheyrou, smicer, baros, murphy etc etc. are you saying we should have kept them?

this season is not the managers fault. things started well and then we imploded when the manager was messed around for the second time when it came time to - guess what - plan signing decent players.

since then we've all heard how the manager is a lame duck and gone as soon as we get knocked out of the CL or defo at the end of the season. you all saw what happened to utd when fergie said he was to retire at the end of the season. you saw chelski leading up to jose going. when players don't know if the manager has the support of his superiors, **** goes wrong on the pitch. it shouldnt but it does. The Owners have prolonged this not rafa. if you blame the manager for that then you need your head testing.

we're all as disappointed right now at how this season has gone. but we werent' before all the sh1t hit the fan. well that was rafa's revolution moving up a gear - and overcoming the loss of a CL final. you haters were quiet then werent you but now he has to go. i've not seen a club in such prolonged turmoil other than leeds.

why can't you be fair to the man and add in a dose of realism in your warped views? which manager do you expect to overturn the fact that we are absolutely the 4th most powerful club in the league? No other manager has the job rafa has. a 1st Tier club with 1st Tier expectations on a 2nd Tier budget. Its OK for Moyes, O'Neil, Curbishley, Hughes, Redknapp etc to flirt with mid-table or relegation one season and have a decent season the next. What if they did that with us? would you give them time? So they can't be compared as expectations on them just arent in the same league.

Rafa is the best man possible for the job. If you can't see that, you're judgement is seriously clouded by something.

      Nice rant.
I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine.
