    No more rotations says Rafa

I know the source is dodgy but I hope this is true

Benitez tells Liverpool players: No more rotations
    tribalfooball.com - February 19, 2008

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is ditching his rotations for the REMAINDER of this season, it has been revealed.
The Guardian says on Sunday, Benitez gathered his players following their dismal FA Cup defeat to Barnsley and told the assembled throng it was the intention to field only his strongest team in the pursuit of this season's remaining two targets: fourth place and the Champions League.

Has anyone heard of this from a good source or is just speculation?

I find that very hard to believe.

Rotation is just an easy excuse, just as playing Gerrard on the right was

There isn't that many games left so there really isn't any point at all to rotate to keep the players fit anymore.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I'd love to know what Rafa thinks is the strongest team

Isn't this the argument against the rotation policey? You chop/change on the pretext that you will be in contention on a number of fronts late in the season...the danger being, well, we've seen the downside

              Probably something like this....

              -----------------------Reina
              Carra---------Skrtel------------Agger-------Riise/Aurelio
              ---------------Masch---------Gerrard-------
              -----Benny--------------------------Kewell
              ----------------Torres----Crouch/Kuyt------

              When Agger is back.

                    I'd suggest:

                    _______________Reina

                    Arbeloa______Carra___Agger_______Aurelio

                    Gerrard_____Alonso___Masch_______Kewell

                    _________Torres______Kuyt

                    ...which is a pity....

It says from memory that he addressed the team and told them that he would be playing the strongest side from now til the end of the season.

I think it depends on whether this is a revelatory moment for Rafa. I don't think he should abandon rotation but I do think there is a psychological benefit in creating a regular team pattern and shape. I think maybe he has had the balance wrong not in terms of personnel but in the changes in approach to different games. I think Rafa is an intelligent enough manager to adapt his philosophies.

Short term I think that playing a settled team will breed confidence. Long term I think a slight change in balance and a new assistant might work wonders if we can add the right couple of players to the squad.

What would the core consist of? Gerrard, Carra, Mascher, Torres, Reina Agger (when fit)/Skrtel,Crouch

Strongest XI would have Gerrard on the right and then you've got Yoss/Babel/Crouch fighting it out for 2 spots on left mid and up front.

All in my opinion of course.
