Err, yes it had, what's your point?

DIC pulled out because G&H offered a higher price per share at the last minute meaning Moores had no choice but to consider it and report it to the shareholders as he didn't own the club outright. He had to do this by law, no choice whatsoever.

DIC then pulled out because of the last minute delay leaving Moores with only G&H's bid.

He didn't do his homework but it wasn't for his own financial gain, just that G&H were very aggressive in their takeover bid and left Moores with only them or keep the club himself as options and he'd have been murdered if he'd have said 'no takeover' at the final hour.
David Moores inherited the most successful club in British football and ran it into the ground, eventually selling out to monied interests from Texas: he is the George W. Bush of the Premier League.

That's bull**** my friend, he took the yankee dollar even though DIC was the sutior for the club. Can't really blame him its human nature afterall, we just thought that our club was above all that.

Do we know the board hadn't already signed off on the DIC deal?

No it's not bull****, DIC pulled put because Moores had to present their offer to the shareholders and they were pissed with the last minute delay.

So we have narrowed down the suspects: Liverpool supporters without internet access.

Bollox. DIC pulled out because Moores DICed them around. They had a verbal agreement to buy the club and then were guzumped by our American friends. Why is DIC back knocking on the door?

What do you mean by 'signed off' mate? If you mean shook hands on the deal they may well have done but it doesn't change the fact that G&H's bid had to be presented to the shareholders.

No mate it's you that's talking bollocks.

If Moores owned the club outright then he would have the power to 'dick them around' by looking at G&H's bid but as he was only majority shareholder he had to report the last minute bid by them to the shareholders. I don't know how many times I'll have to say this before you understand.

You may hate Moores, you may love him and I don't give a **** either way to be honest but the fact remains that Moores was not in a position to ignore the American bid and sell to DIC. It would have been illegal.

Oh and I guess they still think the club is a good business opportunity, same as why they were interested last time. If Moores DIC'd them around so much why is he supposedly in contact and trying to get them back on the scene?

                              Source: euFootball.BIZ

DIC's statement last night, which included comments from its chief executive, Sameer Al Ansari, only hints at the anger felt in Dubai at the extraordinary turn of events at Liverpool.

"It has been an absolute shambles," said a source that is close to the deal. "Over the last few days it has been impossible to get a sensible answer out of them as to what's going on. The way DIC have been treated is staggering and to say they are unhappy would be way more than an understatement."

The turning point in the negotiations with DIC came after Parry, Moores and other directors decided to hold a special meeting Tuesday in a Docklands hotel in London.

DIC thought the meeting was just a procedure before the formal announcement on Monday and that the deal would be approved with Moores agreeing to sell his shares. What it did not know was the board was meeting to seriously consider Gillett's revised offer.

The first DIC was aware of the reason for the meeting was when The Daily Telegraph called the company's financial PR advisers, Brunswick, to ask for a comment on the latest aspect in the story.

Once it became clear the board had not recommended the bid as expected, DIC executives tried to clarify the position with Moores and Parry but sources said they could not get a straight answer.

Frustrations grew even more when Rabih Khouri, who was leading the DIC negotiations on behalf of Al Ansari, could not locate Moores and Parry despite travelling to see them in person at the game against West Ham at Upton Park.

The failure to get a satisfactory response led them to angrily withdraw its bid.

Liverpool dismissed DIC's version of events, saying the board had grown frustrated at the time it was taking it to complete due diligence and make the formal bid.
"I'm sorry you'll have to speak up I'm wearing a towel".
