    Right-o....

Now, as many of you lot will know, whenever there's talk of a so-called 'anti LFC' bias in the media, i dont subscribe to it at all. In fact, i often find it laughable and embarrassing when people suggest it. And i'm still of the belief that there isnt one in existence, i just feel the media sniff out when someone's slightly in the firing line and then go in all guns blazing - whoever it might be.

Having said all that, on the way back from the game on Tuesday, i had the phone-ins on as i usually do (because it's a good few hours of a journey and listening to people talking football, even if they're talking ****e, makes the time pass quicker) and i was actually stunned at what i was hearing...

It was Talksport (yes, i know...) and it was their Champions League show, obviously...

So i'm thinking, well we've just put in a super performance to beat Inter, great result, against most of the odds and it seemed a no-brainer that this would be the focus of their show.

Then i started actually listening to them and, would you believe it, the gist of it was "Great result for Liverpool...but Liverpool fans, we're asking you why cant you do it in the league and how frustrated are you that, once again, you're not challenging?"

I couldnt believe my ears. I'm far from happy at our league underachievement and it's a valid question, but on tuesday night, on their CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SHOW, the feckers were focussing on the sodding league. If there was ever a time when the expression 'thats not for tonight' was valid, this was it.

The league discussion takes place every weekend and they put more than their fair share of the boot in, tuesday night was about the CL...and they still couldnt resist it.

I dont normally get peeved with the media over this type of ****, but that actually fecked me off.

I know it's been and gone, and there's probably not much point in saying it now, but it's been irking me and i wanted to vent.

So there we go. Rant over.

It was a valid question though IMO. So frustrating that we can perform when we really need to, in the so called big games, but fail so often against weaker opponents in the league.

It's a valid question, but it was being asked at the wrong fecking time, when the focus should've been on our CL game and result. They've got plenty of time to put the fecking boot into us about the league

Fair enough. I am sure they just do things like that to provoke reaction and therefore callers/listeners to these shows.

Yeah naturally and they're good at that too. I dont often fall for their windup tactics, because i'm fully aware of what they're doing and i was aware this time too, but it actually annoyed me for once, and i'm trying to work out why.

                  We never agree on anything

I think there IS an anti media bias towards Liverpool especially from the London based rags and medi outlets.

I was listening to Brian Reade on LFC TV a few months ago who also thought that there was an anti Liverpool bias from lots of his peers.

I used to listen to the football phone in's however stuff like Tuesday night ****ed me off so much I don't bother anymore. In their defence however they are trying to get people to call in and one way of doing that is by winding people up by spouting what they do.

Just look at Durham who was slagging Carra off it was great publicity for talk ****e.

See, Adrian Durham's at it ALL the time, so much so, that he has no credibility left and far from winding me up, i enjoy listening to it because it's funny, i dont take him remotely seriously. Tuesday night it was Nigel Pearson, no idea who he is and dont listen to him much, but he DID annoy me.

I dont take it as being an anti LFC bias, i take it as a combination of them deliberately being provocative/sensationalistic to get a reaction and just generally being clueless dimwits...hence why it doesnt bother me in 90% of cases. Dunno why Tuesday's did, to be honest...possibly just because i was so surprised that they'd choose such a stupid time to go off on an 'LFC are ****e in the league' tangent.

Maybe there's a fine line, because i know Andy Gray gets people's backs up, same with Keys and Redknapp, but none of them annoy me. Gray's not so bad IMO, he actually talks sense a fair bit of the time i think. Keys is just a slightly sophisticated orangutan so his comments barely register to me, whilst Redknapp's turned into Sky's most recently groomed imbecile, so once again, nothing he says is treated with any sense of importance.

I suppose it's a case of, if it's someone i take remotely seriously, then their opinions register with me. If not, it goes in one ear and out of the other, and therefore doesnt bug me at all.

Alvin Martin is decent on talk ****e.

That Nigel Pearson is a prick, he cuts people off for being provocative but he's always at it. As I said I never listen to the ******s anymore and more often than not the callers are plastic Liverpool fans anyway who can't wait to stick the knife in even if we have played well.

Maybe a suggest next time you stick to your S-Club 7 cd?

I'd actually forgotten to refresh my autochanger, so i just had 10 CDs i'd listened to ****loads lately and milked dry...i often prefer speech-stuff as opposed to music (depending on my mood) so on tuesday night, i had a couple of Jasper Carrott CDs, 2 Peter Kay ones, Frank Skinner's autobiography and Jack Dee at the Apollo.

All great, but all listened to loads lately

Need to make like Rafa and do a bit of rotation
