Lucas was dreadful to be honest. In the end it felt almost cruel that he was out there. He doesn't look anywhere near to being ready yet, and I don't think exposing him like this does him any favours at all.

I genuinely felt sorry for the lad. Everything he touched turned to ****e and people were seriously getting on his back in the end and it became a vicious circle.

I'd rather he hadn't have played. It won't have helped his development one iota.

Have to agree. Lucas had an awful game today. Should have been taken off early in the second half.

problem was by that stage there would (judging by the comments by me) a huge cheer at his number going up and it would have destroyed the lad. i was feeling hugely protective of them. rather than take him off it would have been better to bring gerrard deeper to help the kid out instead of having him pretty much up front

Rumour is that Hicks hasnt put the money up for mascherano because he doesnt expect to be there for very much longer and doesnt want to fund the transfer out of his share money. The idea is that Mascherano will be confirmed once DIC take over, and they'll be footing the bill.

doesn't take a rocket scientist to work that one out does it.

Why would anyone pay £17m for a player when they are by all accounts selling the club. Its would be daft.

The fact that this deal hasnt been signed and sealed yet is also a clear indication that DIC are very much in the frame to buy the club.
