Can't remember who made it up now. Every frustrating mismatch between Houllier's pov and reality as fans saw it was sent up. Nothing special but it was a way of getting through the pain of Ged's final abject season!

Found a bit of it here...

What the **** is wrong with these Blues?! One of the Dads at school is a Blue, got talking to him tonight and he thinks they'll challenge for the title and will finish above us "without doubt"

It's proper weird. Imagine the nation wide laughter if we'd sold Coutinho and signed Keane, Pickford etc or Chelsea jibbed Hazard and did the same. Everyone would be saying we have no chance of top 4. I know it's all relative as they are a nothing club so them spending a bit of money looks great but no one bats an eye lid if any of them lads sign for Stoke, Burnley or West Brom. They are just average.

Just don't get it. It's like the more we hammer them, the more we break their hearts, the more lacking in self-awareness and the more deranged and delusional they become. This lad said to me, with a straight face, only Mane & Coutinho would get in their side ....I'm like "ok mate"

Yep, its ****ing weird mate. They always make out like they are being ultra fair too. After 10mins of saying how **** all our players are and a combined 11 would be all their players they add something like "but Coutinho could start ahead of Mirallas to be fair" or whatever other **** winger they are starting at the time

Every year I've been alive they've apparently had the better players and manager. I've never known anything like it, it's definitely the weirdest derby. Every set of fans talk about their local rivals of course like we are doing here but for them it's a complete obsession, they even put on a spread for the Mancs in their pubs for **** sake. The same lads that will belt out anti scouse and Hillsborough songs but because they hate us too it's ok Going on a Spurs forum about their stadium and they are all excited about it, talking about what it'll be like etc, go on an Everton forum and it's all "bigger than Anfield" "best stadium in the city" "FC Big Stand heads have fallen off", "this is killing the RS" and all this other weird ****. This is actually why they can never win a derby, they should def have more wins over us in years gone by because sometimes the gap hasn't been that huge but they are so obsessed with making it a tension filled war zone it filters down to their players and they choke, it's a big game for us but we just play our football.

And they absolutely worship this Usmanov fella. Like completely idolise him, the man who's got shares at Arsenal and wants to buy Arsenal but they've created all these mental theories in their heads that it's some cover to buy them and dominate the world. What a cult.

My Everton brother in law has gone nuts with it this year. He's said this is Moshiri "flexing his muscles" and this spending is "only the start." Never mind that the amount they have spent pretty much adds up to the Lukaku cash, and the players they have bought are pretty much replacements to keep them where they are...

                    Keane - young Jagielka
                    Sigurdsson - replacement for Barkley
£5m Spanish striker - Enner Valencia
Cuco Martina - Coleman / Baines cover
Rooney - who knows! Lukaku replacement?
Who else Klassen? Don't know much about him to be fair.

A lot of money to maintain 7th place.

Funes Mori is out for 9 months too.

If Everton really ever did get the type of spending power City have can you imagine how they'd behave?

Honestly I saw lots of City fans turn horribly arrogant when they became "rich". You can multiply that x 1,000,000 if it ever actually happened to "The Ev"

Standard innit. They're pretty good signings for a midtable team do they assume they're just mint full stop. No appreciation of the enormous gulf in quality to the highest level.

I'd say Stoke's signings over the last couple of seasons were better on paper, and showed more ambition

Javier Manquillo: Newcastle sign former Liverpool and Sunderland defender

Newcastle have completed the signing of former Liverpool and Sunderland defender Javier Manquillo from Atletico Madrid for an undisclosed fee.

The Spain Under-21 right-back has signed a three-year contract with the Magpies, who were promoted back to the Premier League last season.

"He has a lot of motivation because he has a point to prove," said Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez.

Manquillo, 23, is Newcastle's fourth signing of the summer.

He follows the arrival of winger Jacob Murphy from Norwich, midfielder Christian Atsu from Chelsea and defender Florian Lejeune from Spanish side Eibar.

"I'm very happy to be here," said Manquillo, who made 20 Premier League appearances last season during a loan spell at Newcastle's rivals Sunderland.

"From the first moment that Rafa Benitez called me I just knew that I had to come here, to such a big club."

Manquillo started his career at Atletico Madrid, making his first-team debut in the 2011-12 season.

He went on to make only a handful of appearances for the Spanish side before joining Liverpool in 2014 on a two-year loan deal.

That was terminated the following year after playing just 10 games for the Reds and Manquillo then spent a season on loan at French side Marseille.

Best of luck to the lad. Just not against us though.

23??? He looked about 40 when he played for us.

Always thought he was decent enough for us and was surprised he didn't get more of a chance.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
