I know the football gods rarely produce in these moments but wouldn't it be a great moment of redemption for karius if he plays and saves a penalty or makes a vital stop that helps win the cup. The fact that he would only be playing after pope is sent off against Liverpool, the team that effectively ended his career that night against Madrid. It would be a kind of full circle for his career, after the abuse he's had to live with, I think he deserves this time and a chance at winning something.

Really? Hasn't he spent most of his career in League 1 and 2, a short spell in the SPL, I would have thought (with all due respect) if Karius can't get a game ahead of him there isn't much point in him being there.Originally posted by S-RED View PostI think Howe starts Gillespie TBH
Obviously there are a lot of factors and I know F-all about Newcastle's squadThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Know that you're the only one. He got paid a vast amount of money for being terrible on many important occasions. He literally had the opposite of a raw deal. 99.9% of the world would feel themselves truly blessed with the deal he had.Originally posted by Fosterbloke View PostI don't know if I'm the only one but I think Karius got an extremely raw deal - he was clearly concussed and his mistakes were a consequence of that.Experimental music, Metropolitan foodstuffs, Mexican wrestler art, London suburbia, wry whimsy, fansy pants flim flam lad

He took over with them in 17th and now has them closing in on Europe again. Will be interesting to see him for a full season next season.Originally posted by Paul12 View PostXabi's Bayer Leverkusen beat Bayern Munich at the weekend.
Next LFC manager?* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

I'd say he's a damn site better than Stevie G as a manager... much more of an intellectual footballing brain and studied the game intensely even when he was still playing. Would be worth following his progress at Leverkusen and see where he might end up next...Originally posted by Paul12 View PostXabi's Bayer Leverkusen beat Bayern Munich at the weekend.
Next LFC manager?
I always thought Klopp's successor would be Ljinders, not Gerrard anyway... but after 'that book' and the aftermath, I don't want Pep anywhere near the hotseat...
