Evidence clearly shows he was never good enough to make it, but I don't think the club helped matters much by forcing him to play out wide when clearly it didn't suit him at all. I understand that for development reasons they probably felt that he need to improve his all round game which is why they did it, but it should have been apparent that he was never going to be a Thierry Henry, that goal scoring was his main/only strength and we should have concentrated on that and playing him as a CF and seen where that took him.
Haha, not that I know anything, but with the advantage of hindsight I think that that approach could have led to a slightly better career for him.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I agree, I don't think its always good for development to work on being an all-rounder. I think it's best to find out what are the best attributes a person has on give them the opportunity to work to their strengths. A player who has good positional sense and a knack for goals, doesn't have to be anywhere else than in front of the goal.Originally posted by RedReet View PostEvidence clearly shows he was never good enough to make it, but I don't think the club helped matters much by forcing him to play out wide when clearly it didn't suit him at all. It seems really odd that he got to the point where he was getting a few games for us (albeit in a 2nd string in the Europa league) and in the 3 seasons since he has barely been able to get a game in League 1, League 2, the SPL and the national leagues, (ok so the number of clubs he's been at probably doesn't help), but you would expect/hope that any of the players who got to the point of making it on to the pitch for the LFC first team could at least make a career for themselves in League 1 or 2.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
