Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Surprised he's dropped that low but I never understood all the fuss when people were creaming themselves over him.Originally posted by Lee View PostBlimey.
Strange one that. He looked pretty tricky at times for the ressies - thought he could've done better than Barnsley. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I thought about this as I wrote it. The answer is quite a few times, yes. Probably not dozens of times, but say about twenty. I suppose it might be cheating a bit by including Tankersley and Chapeltown. The first time was January 1979, drinking in the town centre at lunchtime. The last time was November 2011, we stayed overnight in the Holiday Inn near the health club. I couldn't date the other occasions.Originally posted by Rich View PostBeen to Barnsley often?
But obviously I was joking. It's an easy target. Even my mate from Barnsley does it.

You never disappoint.
I guessed you were aware of the ambiguity. Happy to be so reliable.

Nice...and dull.
And it won't be so nice when the green fields get built since Pickles has forced through a development that was opposed by the people here. Ignoring what local people want and taking decisions out of their hands is all part of his localism agenda...er...some mistake surely...

I like Barnsley though. Well, I like the people I've met from there anyway. Except Muddled of course but fortunately that's only online..

Have you seen Portsmouth? I can only assume Goering let Southampton off lightly..
