Former Liverpool winger Jimmy Carter, 49, has been inundated with goodwill messages on Twitter - aimed at his former US President namesake, 90, who has revealed he has cancer.

Dom Matteo in bankruptcy move having lost over a million on gambling.
An Insolvency Service spokesman said: “The matter is at an early stage. Mr Matteo will need to be interviewed to establish how many creditors there are and how much is due to them.
“A decision will also have to be made over whether to appoint an insolvency practitioner to handle the case.”
Matteo spoke openly about his gambling problems in his 2011 biography In My Defence and in interviews to promote the book

I was reading an article about ex-footballers doing unusual jobs and found this:
VEGGARD HEGGEM: Norweigan fullback Heggem played 54 times for Liverpool between 1998 and 2003 before his career was cut short by injury. He now owns and manages a salmon fishing business on the River Orkla in his home country. (PA)https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/photos/e...973918871.htmlJERZY DUDEK: Liverpool fans have fond memories of the Polish keeper who helped them win the Champions League in 2005. After hanging up his gloves, Dudek, now 42, became a racing driver, competing in the Volkswagen Castrol Cup last year in Eastern Europe. He told FourFourTwo: 'My position in goal is about making quick decisions during the game. When you are racing in the car, you have to do the same, especially when you have to defend or attack, and control the car.'Last edited by Exiled_red; 20-08-15, 07:34 AM.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Charlton are considering offering Jermaine Pennant a contract after he has been training with them for a while. Earlier in the summer he rejected a contract offer from Wigan to extend his stay there. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
