Why is he signing the top of the page? Surely his signature would be at the bottom.
Typical Downing, missing the target yet again.
Brilliant
"That's how I found myself on the Kop that day I had my blue-and-white scarf safely tucked away inside my coat as I listened to Liverpool songs and swayed with the masses.
Then City scored and I screeched and this big bloke, a Liverpool supporter, made towards me and I thought he was going to throttle me. But he just pulled my scarf from under my coat so it lay on the outside, and said: "You should always be proud of your colours, lad."
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
Meanwhile, former Liverpool striker Anthony Le Tallec has opted to continue his career in Greece, agreeing a two-year deal with Atromitos, the club announced on Sunday.
The 30-year-old former France under-21 international was latterly playing in the French second tier with Valenciennes.
Now he has agreed to move to the club from the Athens suburbs after being tempted by the prospect of playing in this season's Europa League.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.
He was great in a tenacious, duracell sort of way wasn't he? Well in Dirk, you were fantastic.
If I remember correctly ppl slagged him off early days as we thought we'd signed an out & out striker but we played him out wide & his goal return out there wasn't great. His work rate was amazing though & he did chip in with important goals.
Armin Hodžić
Signed for us, but never got a work permit, so he only played a few youth games I think, rest of the time he spent on loan in Željezničar. He's now in Dinamo Zagreb.
Alberto Aquilani is unlikely to be remembered fondly on Merseyside. [no ****] Signed by Liverpool for £17m in 2009, he made only 18 Premier League appearances for the club before joining Juventus and AC Milan on loan and then Fiorentina permanently in 2012.
The Italy international made 81 league appearances in three seasons for La Viola, but is now out of contract and looking for a new club. He has been linked with a move to Major League Soccer side Montreal Impact.
Did you know? Despite playing only 815 minutes of Premier League football, Aquilani provided six assists and scored one goal.
