Agreed, i don't think we're miles away at all, most of the draws we had this season were in games we dominated, the ball just would'nt go in the net, or we let a stupid goal in.

      Well said.

And well said Stevie G. CL success will be a successfull season in my book, but as Stevie says it's the league we want.

So I can see where he's coming from.

I ****ing hate these two coming out with this ****e every few months it's doubley annoying when both have been well below par this season, particular Gerrard.
Start ****ing performing lads then if results don't change get a meeting arranged with all the players or something and make your feelings know instead of mouthing off to the press. What good will that do?

For once I agree with Marky.

I still think it would be, regardless of what Stevie says. I'm glad Gerrard sees it the way he does though. Our number 1 target was the prem, so to fail in that is not a great feeling, but I can't agree with anyone who decrees that winning the CL under any circumstances is not a fantastic season.

It's the greatest and most prestigious(sp) club trophy in world football. And more than me hold that opinion. With that in mind I can't see why it would not be a fantastic season.

The shame of our season is that I know what Torres would rather have won this season - the champions league. But 99% of foreigners woud say that. It'd be the same if you or I went to play in La Liga.

Still, we are a million mles away from winning the CL at this moment in time.

**** me, I didn't realise we ahd only lost 3 games in the league. It really is the draws that have cost us the league.

if we won the cl it would be a fantastic season. we are all about silverware and we know we havent got the squad to win the league but if we win the second best trophy it will be a remarkable achievement.

lets say arsenal dont win the league and get knocked out in the quarters. I would take our season over theres every day of the week

Yeah but you could use that logic to say that if we finished 5th and had won the Carling Cup, that would make it a successful season. I know the CL is a much different kettle of fish and yes, i accept that but if it's just about silverware, then the Carling Cup is silverware too

Winning the Champoins League would be a fantastic achievement, and would make for a very good Champions League campaign - simple as that.

On all other fronts, we have been piss poor really!

The players have talked the talk so many times this season and then in the following game they can go out and look very uninterested.

It's how you play on the pitch that counts, not how you talk off the pitch.

The reason that Arsenal are so far ahead is that they actually perform more or less every week as a team, they back up their words, we don't.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
