£13 million for a very average 27 year old who hasn't shown much in the Premiership this season or £11.5 million for a 21 year old who has shown flashes of brilliance and surely will only get better.

Malouda is a good player but he's been hampered by injuries this season and haven't been able to claw his way back. Babel has certainly more potential and I'm really delighted we've good him ahead of Malouda, that's a no brainer.

Babel has the potential to be a really world class player. He has it all. Technique, Excellent physique and physical power, an eye for goal and pace to burn. He's only got to channel that into something cohesive and take on board what Rafa tells him in training. He's already made great strides this season. He's taken 6 months or so adapting and now he's showing his class. He'll be a hell of a player next season for us if he continues to progress and we could be in for a new signing in that sense.

malouda and Simao, too over rated players who I'm glad got away. Quaresma and Nani are others. Lets hope Quaresma ends up at OT too
