i knew i had heard that young fellas name b4
it was on kt news a while back
i know coz i aint banned
    her it is..

Liverpool are reportedly tracking Middlesbrough youngsters Josh Walker and Nathan Porritt.

The news has apparently angered Boro chairman Steve Gibson because both of them are under contract.

Walker plays in the centre of midfield but he's also comfortable as a centre-back. He's an England U16 and U17 international who has captained his country every time he's played.

Porritt is also an regular for the England youth teams. He's an exciting winger and numerous Premier League and European sides have been monitoring his progress. He's certainly one to listen out for in the future.

Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

You and me both. I'm convinced GH had sticky fingers.

I mentioned this about 18 months ago and was slated on KT. Not one person agreed with me.

Well when you look at the level the team had reached and we just needed maybe Duff and 1 other and we went out and spunked 20 odd million on Diouf, Diao and Cheyrou it makes you wonder doesn't it.

Another thing about those transfers was that when Rafa arrived he asked for scout reports on Cheyrou to see why he was signed and there were none.

                      From the PA:

Chelsea will not face any possible points deduction even if Panorama's claims they made an illegal approach for an England youth player are substantiated.

The Blues were given a suspended three-point deduction by the Premier League following the Ashley Cole 'tapping up' case. Chelsea are currently the subject of a joint investigation by the Premier League and Football Association over claims by Leeds of illegal approaches for three academy players last season.

The BBC's Panorama programme has now alleged Chelsea's director of youth football Frank Arnesen offered Middlesbrough's 15-year-old midfielder Nathan Porritt £150,000 over three years to move clubs. However, even if Chelsea are found to have breached any regulations with regard to the academy players the suspended points deduction from the Cole case will not apply.

It is understood one Premier League regulation covers illegal approaches for contracted players, and a separate regulation covers approaches for academy players.

Chelsea would have to be found guilty of another breach of the rule regarding contracted players for the points deduction to come into force.

With regard to the Arnesen allegations, Chelsea told the BBC no industry rules had been breached. It is understood Arnesen was approached by Porritt's agent Peter Harrison rather than Chelsea making the initial inquiry.

The Panorama programme said: "In a meeting with the agent Peter Harrison he [Arnesen] offers a financial inducement to one of the game's brightest prospects, Middlesbrough's England youth star Nathan Porritt.

"At the meeting, also attended by undercover reporter Knut auf dem Berge, Arnesen says he is willing to offer the Teesside club's 15-year-old £150,000 spread over three years to induce him away."

Porritt's agent also offers the player to Liverpool, and a club official talks positively about signing him when he is 17. Liverpool too have told the BBC they have not breached any industry rules.

Slightly disappointed with the programme - it basically told us what we already knew, but didn't substantiate a great deal. Allerdyce's reputation must now be in tatters, and I have little sympathy for him. I'm really relieved that Harry Redknapp didn't take the bait - I've always admired him and sincerely hoped that the programme makers didn't expose him as a corrupt manager, which they didn't.

If nothing else this programme will make people involved even more cautious and hopefully will help minimise the corruption in the sport.

                        Ian.

Well there you go then. Obviously GH would never have done anything like that. He signed those players because he thought they were going to be excellent signings for the club...
