We need more than three or four games to start saying this.

Even though I like Kuyt, I think a player with more trickery and who contributes between 10 and 20 goals is needed. Also a dani alves type fullback either on the left or the right to provide us with width.

We need 2 more match winners at best, but one would do it, IMO.

I don't think we need to change much elsewhere though. We're covered in the right back spot but arguably a 'flying' right back would be good, but I don't think Rafa sees Alves as one really, more of a right winger if you ask me.

We probably need a left back too, with a choice needed to be made between Riise and Aurelio. Aurelio is very good but he doesn't seem capable of sustaining 5 or 6 matches on the trot. Dunno why he's been missing tonight, probably rested.

So, to resume, another striker + two promising left and right wingers (attackers) should be acquired. We have the basis of a winning team.

And as for the formation, I think it has brought us stability, in the sense that it's an adaptable formation during matches. It can easily be reverted to a 4-4-2 and allows players to switch positions easily, therefore bringing much more movement and variety to our play.

Stevie can switch to the right, allowing Kuyt to move inside, and Babel can also play there as well as playing on the right. When it's functioning well, it is a formidable sight to see us attacking because there's plenty of movement, and this has been lacking at the beginning of the season.

Sorry to put a dampner on this very good thread but if Harry was...well.. still Harry he would be brilliant on either the left or right of this formation. If SG was injured he could star in the centre as well.

It's just ****ing sad, that is all.

Is it me or does Kuyt deliver a much better ball from the left? We've seen evidence of this quite a lot lately. He's okay from the right but for whatever reason crosses a consistently better ball from the left hand side when he cuts in-field.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

His assist for Torres 2nd was class. Tricky, decisive and most importantly laid on a platter.

                        Perfect world.

                        DIC takeover.
                        Put in some cash.
Masch persuades his mate messi to come to us and play in dirks possition in this formation.

                        Now that would be nice.

on all points - although the squad isnt THAT bad i think we need cover at GK, both FB and both wide positions. masher also needs someone to play the same role when he needs to be rested. im hoping nemeth could step up as could lucas come next year.
