All I know is that it took 100 years to get to £6 and about a further 3 or 4 years to get to £12.

It's not just admission prices which have been distorted in the last 15 years or so.
John Barnes, probably the best player in Europe in late 80s was on about 2 grand a week.

I stood on the Kop for many years from around 1965. We were all a bit miffed when the gate price went up from two shillings (10p) to half a crown (12.5p). Don't know what seat prices were at that time though.

The everton match was a cup replay at goodison, cant remember the date, with another 20000 or so watching on big screens at anfield. I was in the kemlyn rd that night, we lost 1-0 and it was offside!!!!

I remember paying 35p to watch us win the league in 1973!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and................10p to watch the replayed UEFAcup final the same year. No tickets, i think every kid in liverpool bunked off school that day!!!! !0p was the minimum the club could charge to cover ueaf rules apparently, after the match the night before was called off.

I seem to remember the Kop being 1.25 for the uneventful '77 match. Generally it was 70p and you could get in on the day.

10p tell me about it...I was there the night before but could not travel the 80 mile again the following night!!!
St.Ettiene seems a bit steep but cannot remember the Kop price. 78 Euro final was £2.50 (although it cost me more).

I first started going in 1977 think it was 60p to get in & 10p for the program, My mum used to give me £1 and that covered the bus fare from Halewood & back plus a bag of chips. Happy days, oh & we won Big Ears for the first time!!!!
