Is this Gerrard?

That's very impressive but i can remember a few games from him this season when he somply didn't perform. Non excistent. I hope to god he goes on to play a blinder in every game until the end of the season, i wouldove nothing more but it's a pity he wasn't as good earlier in the season.

No, you can criticise him, sensibly, but its a little silly to do so because he "hasn't played a blinder in every single game all season". That would be simply ridiculous, and impossible. I remember Torres having a couple of completely anonymous games too, shall we have a go at him? And didn't Gerrard score in 10 consecutive games earlier in the season during this "poor" patch?

Seems like the man's set such high standards that if he isn't scoring 30 yard screamers every single game some people will want to have a shot. He's human you know, he's allowed to be unhappy, or slightly out of form, and its also worth noting that he was far less impressive, in terms of highlights at least, when playing in a flat 4-4-2 as he simply has more donkey work to do in a game.

Gerrard shouldn't be immune to criticism.... but he's one of a handful of players in this league who are genuinely world class, and we are so ****ing lucky to have him.

babel so far has given us another 8 + 5. m If he kicks on and we get 1 A N Other. We'll be good.

We're not far off having quite a cheeky team now really. Hopefully any signings this summer will be the "hit the ground running" type like Torres was, rather than the "bags of potential but need half a season" types like Lucas and Babel were last summer, and then it really wouldn't be pushing it to think we might have a shot next year. For me, Gerrard has to play in this advanced role he is now with Babel, Torres and 1 other around him. 2 genuine quality fullbacks as well and we really would have a first XI that could do something.

His performances in the Scum game, Wigan, Birmingham at home were not Captain material, he was ****e at the Riverside and Reading as well.
That's not blaming one player btw, the majority of the team were ****e in them games but i thought as Captain etc Gerrard could have played a bigger role.

As i said, nobody's brilliant all the time. Not Ronaldinho, not Ronaldo, not Kaka. And not SG. Be realistic.

Shame it took Rafa so long to get round to using Gerrard just off Torres.

Had he stumbled on it in November....

Still we're flying now, and those two are the reason, the understanding between them is telepathic, that pass from Gerrard today and the Torres run to find the space, just brilliant and of course it helps that they're miles better than any of our other attackers. Though I suspect Babel will join them soon enough.

everyone is entitled to there opinion but i've never seen anyone call him a cunt tbf
