My understanding is £18m - that's what the Echo always said. I imagine it was around £20m plus Luis, knocking a couple of million off the £20m fee?

I dunno- obviously he's having a ****e season, but he's playing a lot better & he was definitely worth the £9m outlay on his 1st season form. Mebbe once he puts the loss of his Dad behind him (as much as you can these things) he will regain his 1st season form next season.

If we get enough money to get a top top striker to play behind Torres, then obviously Dirky will be a bench option, but I think both he & Rafa would be happy with that.

I agree that Crouchie doesnt suit this formation, but he gives us other options so it kinda depends if he is happy wit that role & Rafa thinks we need those options.

IMO kyut was and might still be a steal at 9 million. transfer market gone tits up last 2-3 years and for what he gives the team (on his good days) 9 million seems about right. how much was shevchenko, saha, owen or reyes? IMO kyut performed better than all these players have in the english league for half the price.

as for torres, 18-20-26.5 etc.... dont know how much it cost but i'd have happily splashed out a british transfer record (30 million??) to secure him.
