I like the way the thread starter hasn't been back to defend his point (or lack of).....

My point is we have way too much dead wood who aren't fit to wear the shirt. Look what happened against Barnsley without our 2 best players - 30 something goal attempts and only 1 goal to show for it, that is pathetic. Crouch moans when he doesn't play but when he does play he just proves how right Rafa is to keep him on the bench most of the time.
Just because we love LFC that doesn't mean we must just settle for some of the useless players we have. I'm saying these things because I care about the club & want us to be successful. But in order for that to happen we need to stop fooling ourselves into thinking we have a decent squad. We need to get rid of Riise, Crouch, Kewell, Kuyt, Yossi & Pennant asap. And would everyone please stop comparing us to Chelski & they Mancs because the above-mentioned players wouldn't even make the bench for those teams...

That's as maybe Nick, and you won't find that many arguing on this site that some of the players you mentioned are right up to standard.

However, there is absolutely nothing we can do about it whatsoever until the summer. Nothing. Zip. Nada. Zero. Nobody is "settling" for anything, we're just pleased to see some decent performances. The squad we have is the squad we will keep until hopefully after the CL final in Moscow. So what on earth is the point, in the wake of a slightly decent run, bringing up how some of them aren't good enough to win everything? We know that. Although you are exaggerating as to how bad some of that list are. Seriously exaggerating. Look at the league table. We do have a decent squad. We just don't have a completely top drawer squad.

In case you haven't noticed, Park, O'Shea, Brown and Fletcher get into the ManU squad. I can't be arsed going through Chelsea and Arsenal's, but they also have a few dodgy ones. Chill, support the players we've got, and expect Rafa to replace some of them with higher quality in the summer.
