Mate who cares how it is financed, we have the players. And don't be so disingenous, Sky and world wide broadcasters have paid a darn sight more for those players than we have.Originally posted by alunevans View Postbecause its borrowed against the club YOU have actually bought torres and mascherano etc not g and t
the club has no stability financially at all. it is simply lurching from refinance to refinance. and has millions of debt round its neck to boot.
being honest i think we can count the number of good decisions that Mr Moores made in his time as chairman on the hand of a man who has just lost all his fingers in a thresher accident.
That aside if Hicks is spending OUR money on Torres et al, seems like a pretty good investment does it not. What would you rather have him spend our money on? Plastic flags? The Crushing Machine MKII

didnt know thatOriginally posted by Ritchi3 View PostSorry, that's true. The general point is that it's not the norm for owners to fund transfers.
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.
"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

Hasn't done united any harm has it! It is a brave new world we're operating in. Why not use it to our advantage? Or would you rather stand still and hope another Abramovic turns up?Originally posted by PC Plod View PostIt was your "who cares how it's financed" comment I was referring to.The Crushing Machine MKII

Scum already have the stadium & commercial marketing revenue in place tho, it is entirely different.
As I've said eleswhere, it's the loans against the club to purchase the club that are my principle objection financially speaking. This sits ont top of that remember & we havent even begin to borrow for the stadium (which I dont object to btw).3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Those loans are NOT secured against the club.Originally posted by PC Plod View PostScum already have the stadium & commercial marketing revenue in place tho, it is entirely different.

Stadium borrowing will be secured against future revenues the same as Arsenal did.
I still think that the analogy with manure is good they have mountains more debt than we do even when you factor in the cost of the stadium. The real thing they have that we don't is 76K punters. Other than that we're pretty much on the same footing.
I really don't get it, all Hicks is doing is what both Manure and Arsenal have done successfully in the past. Why not follow a model that works? The Crushing Machine MKII
