Kuyt did what he should do yesterday. Chased the Inter defenders and didn't give them any time with the ball. You can more or less say that he do the same work upfront as Masch do in defense.

His hard work open up a lot of space for Gerrard, Babel and Torres.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Babel was crap but I felt he was more of a threat on the break than Kuyt. Babel went off for Benayoun because of the booking and he looked tired.

Basheer is sooooo mind numbingly boring. why do they bother with him? also some people are paying out on young lucas-i thought he was ok certainly not as bad as some suggest, he's only 21 ffs.

He is supposed to be this hybrid of winger and striker yet offers poor final product and lack of goal threat. This is the sort of mediocrity that has held us back for years in terms of winning the title.

its not kuyt bashing, but Kuyt was summed up by that rocket he hit straight at the keeper when he didnt have the intelligence to do anything else!!

It's all about what is best for the team. I don't care if he don't score if his hard work help players like Torres and Gerrard to score a lot more goals.

So you would less goal threat and more hard work?

Because last time I checked, three goal threats are better than two. Besides, his final ball was poor yesterday so there was no way he would have provided for either Torres and Gerrard.

Don't think we are that harsh mate. More critical than harsh. Besides we are not Rafa so doesn't really matter what we say.

tell me about it. His voice doesnt change at all...even when a freaking goal is scored.

Kuyt is right now our best option as the right sided attacking midfielder, so right now Kuyt is what is best for the team.

It may change next season but that depends on who we will sign.

I thought Kuyt had a decent game tbh, Babel tried his best to be the outlet but the Inter right back kept reading him like a book!

Lucas, for me, was poor and it was a good job that Mascherano was along side him; but it'll be a great learning experience for Lucas and I'm sure he'll come on leaps and bounds.

Gerrard had a quiet game too, Hyypia and Skrtel were very impressive (apart from the sloppy pass early in the second) Full backs did their job, nice and tidy, although they were helped by Inter's formation.

Which leaves the difference on the night for me: Reina, Torres, and Mascherano. AWESOME

A word for Aurelio and his lovely ball to Torres for the goal. He has his faults but offensively he offers us things that the agricultural Riise simply does not.

There was also a special, special pass (that wasn’t highlighted in any way by Gray & Hawthorne) to find Babel over the top…when the ball just got away from young Ryan.
