Gerrard on the right, however, gives greater "possibilities" () Gerrard can go on the outside, or on the inside, he can play the early ball, or the late ball. He can use his pace to get past the full back, or look to play a 1-2 with a striker dropping off. All in all, there is a greater variety on what Gerrard can do on the right, which makes him far more difficult to deal with....

Fullbacks can overlap too, not as if Gerrard is on his own, Rafa likes his fullbacks to get forward, so id expect there to be a distraction on the flank for Gerrard to work off. Also, Gerrard wont be just on the left, so he will be harder to track. Im not saying he is better on the left than the right, im just defending the decision to play Gerrard on the left, as he said himself(Gerrard) if he had scored against the chavs, people would be saying it was a masterstoke by Rafa. Rafa is helping Stevie become one of the worlds top midfield players, Stevie knows this.
