If the case is that the ref warned Mascherano before sending him of, there is no blame on the ref.

Bennett obviously had no answer so in his embarassment he sent him off

So Masch got sent off because he asked what happened?Originally posted by livvy145 View Post
****ing joke if true and that only means that Bennett was bribed.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Don't be ridiculous! Of course he wasn't bribed. We got beat by a better side and got a tad unlucky with the sending off, whereas we got lucky with the red cards against Inter Millan. Were the refs in those games bribed as well?Originally posted by AFII View Post****ing joke if true and that only means that Bennett was bribed.Cult Member. Nazi puncher.

He wasnt bribed, but he did have a bee in his bonnet from his boss for not sending ashkey cole as the 4th official, also wouldnt be surprised if da mind games by fergie had effected him.Originally posted by chadrtc View PostDon't be ridiculous! Unfortunatley for us we were the ones that had to suffer. We come not to play.

He clearly didn't, which Andy Gray pointed out very well at HT. Ludicrous all round - Torres got kicked twice and asked why the ref wasn't booking them like he would have if it was the other way round, and Masher was just sticking up from his mate - not swearing or abusing the ref. I was worried about Bennett before kickoff and he proved everyone right, he just loves flashing his cards around and being all officious. No doubt after the Cashley incident some people will stand up for him but that was completely different and he went OTT IMO, he should have just given Masher a final warning.Originally posted by einar View PostIf the case is that the ref warned Mascherano before sending him of, there is no blame on the ref.
You can blame Pepe for two goals, but he arguably kept out at least another two when they sprung our offside trap so can't hold too much against him, but generally the team was poor and I don't think you can blame Rafa for so many of them underperforming - worst culprits being Carra, Stevie and Xabi. The last two gave the ball away so much, it was criminal.
Anyway, all they can do is remember this and make sure it doesn't happen again next season, when hopefully we actually WILL have a title to play for"the correct decision would have been a penalty for us a red card for Gattuso and a yellow for Stevie"

What a shambles. You've got to ask the question...... how can we win 7 games in a row yet still walk onto a football pitch against united completely devoid of belief. The sending off simply confirmed the result. They were the team with more more belief in themselves. We are a shell of ourselves. Reina was left completely exposed by poor defending. Carra had a poor game and both him and Skyrtl lost their men every time. How many times did Rooney simply leave them for dead. Embarrassing. Reina had a nightmare. He was at fault for the first and partially for the second (Alonso gave up on that one). Kuyt, Babel, Alonso, Gerrard... all poor.
I don't think the ref can be blamed for the sending off. Mascherano clearly lost it after the first yellow. If Stevie was a decent captain he would have spotted this and talked to him long before the red card. There is a communal responsibility on the team to have nipped this in the bud. All of them are culpable. All of us watching could see it was only a matter of time. Mascher was a loose cannon.
For me the most disappointing was the attitude of the players. They never believed they could win. We will not succeed if we continue like this. Big changes needed in the summer.

Fair play to SAF
his substitutions were good, where most managers would have brought on hargreaves at 1-0 to tighten up the midfield, he brings on Nani and Tevez
And lets be honest, a draw was probably the best we were all realistically looking at.
I wouldn't be as annoyed if we had gone there and lost maybe 1-0.. but the fact that they won so convisingly angered me more.
Ah well, chins up, Everton next week lets make this 2 point lead become 5

how are united our biggest rivals for the title?we have too challange for the title to be uniteds biggest rivals first.Originally posted by BrooklynRed View PostThese recent years have been gutting for me and sport; Liverpool have been completely useless against their biggest rivals for the title and my University's American football team has gone 0-4 and lost 6 of the last 7 against our biggest rivals. I am not sure I can take much more.
who's arsed?

Hope Steve Bennett gets cancer of the eyes.
Scum.
Goes without saying for that sub human lot. ****ing scum.
Just a shame Mascherano got sent off for yapping, should've broken Ronaldo's legs, then it would've been worth something.
Just a word about Rafa, ****e perfromace, especially the subs, did absolutely nothing.
Reality check time, still lot's of changes needed before we're good enough.I hate Polanski
