Double standards yet again at OT, just shows how hard it will be to ever challenge for the title. We not only have to get a better team together than Utd's, we also have to get the refs on our side.

Masher was silly, theres no doubting that...but the ref bottled it. Disgracefully booked him for a nothing challenge...and then the "dissent". Absolute ****e.

Wes Brown's goal was a free kick IMO, he put both hands on Skrtels shoulders, stopping Skrtel from jumping......thats a FK. Crouch gets FK's given against him for not even using his hands.

Sorry, just got up here in Aus. Did watch the game and am so very disappointed with our performance.

      Haven't read what others have said so I might be repeating someone elses thoughts but the problems we have when facing Utd are many;

      1. No belief/confidence. The simple difference between the 2 squads is that they know they can win, while we are crapping our daks everytime we line up together. Their confidence is bleeding obvious. We don't have it, hence we cannot play a creative, flowing game. We are so focused on the magnitude of the game that we cant play it! Its only Utd that we have this problem against. It is psychological!

      2. Our team does not play as a team as well as Utd. To me it looks as if when they attack - everyone on the pitch attacks. And each member of their team is capable of scoring, which makes them very dangerous. With us, its like we have this ****ing mental block that only certain members (very few) are able to score, therefore get the ball to these guys or forget about scoring. Which invariably lessens our chances in front of goal and ****s us up.

      3. No width (quality width). Kuyt is absolute garbage. I'm sure he is a very nice guy, but he has no business playing for us in the topflite. No pace, can't beat a man, touch is average, completely lacks creativity. Why pennant doesn't play I'll never understand. Ronaldo is undoubtedly the best player on the planet at the present, and nani is going to be **** hot. And who better to mentor you as a kid than Giggs? We need that quality!

      5. Rafa has no idea how to play against Utd. He's as **** scared as the rest of the squad.

      4. And lastly. Maybe its not our players fault as much as we rant about. It seems to me that Utd, on paper, has some very average squad players, but for some reason, they all improve dramatically while playing for Utd. The quality of the overall coaching at Utd is better than ours. They develop players better than we do. I cant really remember any member of our squad who has improved that much since pulling on the red shirt. Its like we stagnate, complain that someone is not good enough, then eventually look for a replacement, who looks promising, but eventually stagnates also. If a player does do well and improves while playing for us (consistently), I reckon its pure ****ing coincidence!

I don't want to waste money on quality youngsters or gun players if we can't make them better. What is the point?! I think we underestimate how important world class coaching is. The players are only one piece of the puzzle.

      Rant over

I don't think anyone can really blame Rafa too much, would anyone else have picked a different team to start the game today?! Main prob today was just a total underperformance by most of our 'big' players, along with the obvious fact that their midfield was free to run riot after Mascher got carded

Harveybirdman did you watch the same game ??? Monster deserved his yellow took the player and got nowhere near the ball and then he questioned and swore at the ref every oppurtunity he got , then sprinted 20 yards to have a go at the ref again , he had no need to get involved granted Torres should not of been booked , but Monster was right to be sent off for constant distant, he never stopped.

As for Brown's goal it was awful defending by Reina for the goal and same with Ronaldo 's goal.

We lost to a better team and should be honest enough to say that, not moaning like a Bitters supporter , Mascherano and bad defending cost us the game, let us not take the easy way out and blame the ref

Masher didnt deserve a yellow for that first challenge. It was his first tackle, he put his legs down, and only made slight contact with Scholes. There was no malice in it. He should of got a warning, thats it! If that kind of tackle was a yellow card offence, then Anderson, Carrick, Scholes and Rooney should have all been booked at least. The second was purely retribution for that cunt Coles disgraceful behaviour midweek. If that hadn't of happened, Masher wouldnt of been sent off. He clearly only said "what for, whats happening". Torres's booking was also bollocks, he had every right to have a go at the ref there...he had been kicked three times in succesion, and not even a whistle.

I dont know what else Reina could of done for either goal TBH. The first was a tad clumsy, but it was FK. Brown used his arms to gain leverage...that a ****ing free kick every single day of the week mate. The second goal was simply Reina getting beaten to the ball by Ronaldo, after Xabi lost him.

We were out played for sure. But the ref has to take the blame im afraid, he ****ing bottled it.

              I agree.

The ref was shocking. Especially in the earlier stages of the game. They were winning the benefit of the doubt on the 50/50's and we were losing them. Double standards by the ref. In the 2nd half he completely lost control of the game. NO ****ING IDEA!

What a load of cock custard, our travelling fans are the bloody crown jewels of this club. I would not blame them if they were quiet yesterday ... the majority of that display was ****ing inept ... We are all sick to death of getting up for these big domestic games and been beaten or dominating the game and getting a draw .. Shame on you more like

I could hear the away fans too...at a 70K Old Toilet and when we were losing.....credits to them!!

At least it was an exciting game. We give them a scare even with 1 man down right until the Ronaldo's goal which should not have been. He was offside prior to the corner.

Anyway, here is how I got over the loss. On it LOUD!

Our fans were loud and proud last night in the face of a disappointing away performance at our biggest rivals. They should be the last to get criticism.

That's how I see it, Carra's injury, playing in various positions and alongside rotated players, and of course his age.

It hasn't helped that Skrytel hasn't been great either, but he's very new and needs time to settle.

I thought we played well for the first 15 minutes. The tackles were hard and fast and we had equal possession.

Then that total cunt of a ref ****ed it all up by not giving a freekick and then sent off Mascher.

What happened to common sense refereeing like that referee with grey curly hair used to dish out. I can't remember his name.
