I would have reacted in the same way and probably more or less everyone would if you got a second yellow in a game against the Mancs for asking the ref a simple question.

The ref was ****, totally **** and he is the one who should be banned.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I'll be happy to wait for the FA to make there findings known before believeing a rumour of anything upto 5 games. Jesus, you have people flying in to tackles and putting people out of the game for months and ******s like Rooney, Terry et al verbally abusing the officials and yet Mascher gets sent off for 2nd Yellow for asking why?

I appreciate he'd been vocal for most of the game, but jesus, it is a north west derby and two of the greatest rivals. if every bit of backchat and challenge went punished by the letter of the law we end up playing 3 against 3.

I'd have hit the ref, that doesn't make it right.

he had every right to be angry though.. he had done nothing wrong.

ive seen players react like that before, and not be further disciplined. He should get a fine at most...not an extra 4 game ban. He didnt attack anyone, he was simply wanting an answer

Harv mate, he ran out 50 or so yards to talk to the ref. He should have stayed out of it.

No but considering we are being made to pay for indiscretions by our 3 biggest opponents and no doubt will be tarred with a dirty brush as being the main offenders, personally I want to take issue with it now before the rest of the world starts believing it.

We couldn't do anything. Fergie knows how to indulge in such psychology and he started something rolling before the match. The players should have known better how it was gonna be played and under which terms.

It's part and parcel of the game, rightly or wrongly. Refs are human beings and they are influenced.

Masher probably knew he was at risk when he ran into Bennett to talk to him and he should have thought about the team's well being first. He wasn't wrong ultimately but within the laws of the game and knowing what had happened a week earlier as regards the Ashley Cole affair, he should have kept his emotions in check.

What if the players had risen above all that and beaten them at Old Trafford, despite all the kicking Torres got and Javier's unfair booking after 10 mins. That would have been the greater and sweeter victory. Now we're just clutching at straws trying to find some excuse when we shouldn't.

Play the football and try to win the game. We should expect getting kicked all over the place and seeing Ronaldo roll over at the merest sight of a tackle. We shouldn't have lost our control because of that.

Had he been a Scum or Chav player he wouldn't have got sent off - end of. He wouldn't have even got booked for the 1st challenge, it was his first offence ffs!!!
Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!

I don't think you get my point. We are now going to be typecast by the media as the bad guys, which is a load of absolute bull****. They will discuss this for a week or two, with us at the centre.

Ashley Cole will be playing for Chelsea, as will Terry and Lampard and the rest. WE are the scapegoat for despicable acting by Chelsea and others, but Chelsea in the main. This pisses me off big time.

                            Agree.

But the rules were set before the match due to the Cole incident and the fact the refs intimated they were gonna crack down on this. Mascher should have known better still.

thats mainly why im so pissed off. We have been made the scapegoat once again.

Im sick of this league TBH. Bring on a European super league with some decent refs

Masch was naive but he was passionate and was asking the questions our captain should have been asking. Stevie was probably arranging a meet with Wazza or Rio.
When we came out in the second half we should has kicked the cunts off the park.
Too ****ing friendly and nice though.

                                Mascherano for captain.
