We don't know if he hasn't given them instructions anyway, so it's a bit harsh making Rafa the culprit for that. I just think that these type of games brings a government health warning because of the sheer passion between both sets of players & supporters, therefore needing strong players to handle all the pressure.

I didnt mean the players were individually better than him, I meant the standard of the opposition is higher, but in big games Scholes and Giggs have proven themselves time and time again to be better. I am not knocking Stevie i just dont expect him to be the best in the world every game.

YES he may have been asking why Torres had been given a yellow card for asking for protection, which was a bad mistakeby the ref, but as a young player you're always tought the referee will not change his decision.. and Mascherano asking 'what was that for' could be seen as a bookable offence!

spot on. said it many times before, stevie is not a leader of men. this was a time that a leader of men was requried and we didnt have one. wouldnt have happened to keane or souness or terry. gerrard was anonymous and then didnt act as a captain should. another reason why he shouldnt be our captain.

either way tho. i want our team to not rise to sh1te like this or if anything, the captain have a word either during or at half time. nothing more than that. no wingeing on the pitch or in the manager's interview. rafa should only say 'some referees are better than others' whenever asked to comment and leave it at that.

Oh stop bickering now everyone. It's been and done. Masher was stupid, he should have stayed away and yes it did probably cost us the game but the ref was a **** no doubt about that either! Surely we can all agree on these facts and move on now........

It was a bad challenge but he did try to withdraw from it but he already committed himself. And it was his first tackle FFS. Technically speaking Mascher was in the wrong, but Bennett should have acted sensibly by giving him only a tickling off. He instead put down the marker on him, and based on the way he plays, there was gonna be only one result ... Him being red carded.
