Here's a thought for you, if we continue with this system do you think we'll see Carra play a few games as 1 of the 2 defensive midfielders? play him infront of Agger and Skrtel when we rest Alonso/Masch as an alternative to Lucus. I think he should still play 99% of the games next year but we could see him more at full back or midfield
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

I hope not, his passing isn't up to the required standard

for the life of me i cannot know how carra, an ex-midfielder, is absolutely p1ss poor at distributing the ball. i'd have expected a midfielder stepping back to be excellent on the ball and stepping out of the defence. why the hell can't he do it? its totally counter intuitive. he should be better under pressure and accurate in his passing and be able to spot the shorter, on the floor passes that really start movements.

i think he's had an average season but then he's been a rock for the past 4 seasons. so lets hope he's back to his usual self after the summer.

skrtel (sp?) will be a class defender. vidic had his teething troubles and russia to england is a big jump. the lad will be a fantastic partner for agger tho. 2009-2010 will see their partnership as the established first choice i reckon.

Carragher for a start needs to start big games by intercepting a pass and putting his foot on the ball and sending a message of calm and confidence through to the team.
The other day everything with him was last ditch and booting as soon as he got it.
He has missed Agger bigtime this year.
He has plenty years left ahead of him but just needs Agger back to give him confidence.

His lack of pace is my biggest worry. Same goes for Finnan , Sami , Aurelio and Alonso.

I would mention fat arse Riise but he will be gone this summer.
More interested in swapping shirts he was than playing football when he came on.
Oh the man is a midfield maestro
and his passes are sooo delightful
          everyone wants to know

His distribution was never an issue when he played with Agger. Agger did all the long passes. Once Agger is back, Carra will be able to concentrate on being the last man and won't have the need to exercise the worst part of his game.

Distribution aside, Skrtel looks tasty. Carra will probably get less games, certainly less than Agger.

I think Carra will come back stronger and better next season, people are too quick to write him off imo

we've been spoiled by his superman performances the past few seasons. clearly he's struggling physically, probably just needs a break and some time off

yeah - that opportunity, on your first touch in the game, to make a cracking interception, control it and lay off a crisp 40 yard pass setting up a chance on goal happens all the time. In your weird mind. What on earth are you on about?

Carragher has his limitations but anyone with a brain can see he is the best pure defender in the team and one of the only blokes to really truly understand the club. I seriously doubt he is any slower or quicker than he was in the last season or two either outside of any injuries he is playing with. I will put money on him being back to his best next season before Skrtel takes over in the coming future.

"fat Arse riise" could you explain that to me?
