FLMAO how the **** they work that out when Gilletts already made it clear he offerred the shares to Hicks and he failed to stump up the cash / meet the deadline

The fact that Gillett says Hicks 'failed to cross the finishing line' rather than 'hasn't yet crossed the finishing line', then inferred that he will not sell 'even one share' to Hicks, suggests that any chance of Hicks taking majority or sole control is dead.

This could be that DIC are going to give Gillette the money to buy out Hicks, didn't the reports earlier this week talk about DIC taking over with somebody else having a minority stake (Gillette)?

I would have thought if Gillett was the mystery third party then DIC would buy Hicks out then buy 40% of Gillett's share.

"Aiming " suggests its a realistic possiblity

"Wishing" would have been more appropriate

Because Hicks is a dick, and as Gillette has said has made it very awkward for Dubai to take over.

I'm not stressing about the BBC article. Someone always tries to come and piss on some positive takeover news. I'll take comfort in the fact that GG made it quite clear that there is no way the Hicks will get majority control of Liverpool

The FACT is that he can't buy Gillett's shares anymore if Gillett don't want to sell to him.

The way this has come out, could it be that GG offered his shares to Hicks, as we know 1st refusal, just to get it out the way, & the veto, but this was only done as i think most believe, as a way to eventually let DIC buy GG's shares, when after said time Hicks can't come up with the cash.

With GG coming out with this interview now, & the contents of it, after so long saying nothing, Could it mean that Hicks has now come up with a way of buying GG's shares, Making GG & Dic rethink, GG now saying Hicks had enough time, not for sale anymore, Then the Beeb saying Hicks trying for control.

I don't know, i'm just looking at scenarios as to why GG has choosen now to talk, and quite openly as it happens.
