Thanjk you.

My point was that Carra will be vocal and shout at the players whether he's captain or not.
If the captain has to be the one shouting all the time how do you explain Neal and Hansen?
To be fair the players that played alongside these guys were of a different mentality to those we have now.
They were born and bred winners who needed very little motivation. The players we have now aren't, bar 4 or 5 of course. We all know who they are.

My old man says Souness was a belter of a player, a very good tackler, hard as nails as we all know and could score a goal. From what I've heard he was also a tremendous leader, no one would **** with him. No messing.
You can't really say whether he's better than Gerrard or not, Stevie still has a good 5 or 6 years in him but Steven Gerrard is a rare breed who has it all. The complete player almost, I've seen him lose his rag with some players if they've ****ed up and made a mistake but I wouldn't say he was vocal.
I can honestly say I've never seen Souness play but my old man say's he was fantastic.

No. SG is not fit to lace the boots of Souness. He was hard, smart, tactically aware, nasty, a leader of men, controlled the team, the team relied on him.

My old man said he was savage, a real beast of a player. Hard as nails aswell.

SG is not the ideal captian if you ask me... He is a brilliant player, but he is not a captain. I have a feeling that the main reason he is captain of our club is that it is what kept him here in the first place.
He has a strong heart for liverpool, and guess it is a dream coming true being a captain for us. But IMO Carragher or when Mascherano gets higher in the hierachy they would be better captains.
I think this discussion is around the english national team as well now. I think a few commentators stated that Gerrard will not be captain of england because it takes to much away from his game, that he can otherwise focus on... Could that be true at club level as well???
