jeez that was a long time ago.

as I recall there even used to be a team called Chelsea in the league at the time, wonder what happened to them?

        I'm speechless.

When asked about the goal compared to the effort against Luton, he retorts, 'yes, i think it's better yes. The Luton goal bounced while this went straight in. But to be fair the Luton goal was with the left while this was with the right!'

So not only has he done it twice... He's also banged them in with either boot!

I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

No doubt he will try it again soon. Seem to remembering him trying it against the chavs.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

              * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

a bit harsh. before he said about the slipping, he said:

"It was a brilliant strike. I don’t think the average fan realises how difficult that technique is, to strike a ball so accurately over that distance."

don't get me wrong, i can't stand the sight or roeder the pigeon faced weasel, but give credit where it's due.

That must be a first in footballing history - at any level! To score two consecutive goals (albeit months apart) from inside his own half....surely never been done before?!
One with either foot to boot!

And it was from 64 yards out.

This is the closest Everton will ever get to scoring a similar goal

I'm pretty sure he tried it in his first game for us, or at least one of the very first, against the Scum at OT.

Stevie G had just been taken off injured. Xabi came on around half-time and tried to lob Barthez from our half. Twice.

Barthez has played for Marseille since before Xabi joined us

Might well have been Howard though, I vaguely recall this happening

It was Roy Carroll wasn't it.

I just googled it and can't find out.

Like I said before, it definitely wasn't Barthez.
