Scott Carson:I ain't coming back to Liverpool

Scott Carson claims he would prefer to play in the Championship than return to Liverpool to be on the bench.

The England goalkeeper is spending the season on loan at Aston Villa, but a decision has yet to be made regarding a permanent deal.

Carson, who has previously been on loan at Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton Athletic, is not keen on another temporary move next season.

He accepts his chances of dislodging Jose Reina at Liverpool are slim and is determined to play football week-in, week-out.

"Will I be at Villa next season?," said Carson. "I can't say yes or no. I don't know what Martin O'Neill's plans are here. I have some important decisions to make in the summer.

    Big decisions

"But I do not want to go out on loan again. I would like to get settled and find a home for the next five or six years.

"I want to be No.1 at a club whether it be Liverpool, Aston Villa or somewhere else. I have big decisions to make at the end of the season.

"It is doubtful whether Liverpool will say I am their No.1 because Pepe Reina has been outstanding for the last two or three seasons.

"I wouldn't want to go back to being a No.2, even at a club like Liverpool. I would prefer to be playing in the Championship rather than being No.2 in the Champions League.

"I have been a No.1 for the past two years and I couldn't not play football on a Saturday. I need to be involved."

Fair enough really. At least he isn't content to earn his money by sitting on a bench like some are.

Fair play, he is too good to be sat on the bench really, but not good enough for a top 4 club to be their number 1. Just a matter of who we sell him to and for how much.

Agreed, I really think he's ****ing dreadful and should of been sold last summer after a bit of hype, his price will just be going down and down with his performances at Villa recently

No presence and no confidence. 6Million would be a good deal.

If he hadn't been so appauling since Christmas, he'd be 1st choice at Villa next year. A Championship club may be where he ends up.

I don't blame him at all. He's been a regular number one for the past few seasons now in the Premiership and has made it into the England set-up - any normal person would want out if he couldn't get a regular start, which he ain't gonna get at Anfield.

Good luck to him wherever he goes.

He'll need it, and so will his new team.

Cash in & bring an aging goalie as back up for Pepe. Unconivnced by Charlieboy as yet
                            3rd place. Worst champions ever.
