I would suspect that basically no one would pay what we thought he was worth as he had sod all experience, yet his few appearances indicated enough potential to get a decent loan fee. As such I don't think his performances have cost us anything much as no one would have paid big money for him last season. I agree though that decent performances could have boosted his value.

I think if I remember rightly the loan fee was about 1.5m, and being in the Prem they should be covering all his wages...so in reality we've probably 'only' lost out on around 1.5m

be a bit gutted to see him go as he has potential, it is interesting to see that the current 3 England keepers are all ones who have played for us. But Carson is no where near as good enought to displace Reina and he is too valuable to hang about.

He's going to be a seriously good keeper in the years to come. I just hope Pepe doesn't pack his bags for Spain anytime soon.

I'm sure Barca are looking out for a new keeper, and if Rafa goes who'd put money on Reina to stay? Maybe not this seasons end, but in a couple of years or so. Then what?

Scot is getting better and better and if it asn't for Reinas age he'd stick around. Fair play to him when he goes.
