Not only was it his debut, but he was up against one of the best passing teams in Europe, on their own patch. Most debutants play for the last 10 minutes when they're 3 up at home.
I can't remember the last time a young kid made his debut in such a massive game against such a massive team. And he let no one down, the fact he finished the match spoke volumes for the way he played. I can only remember him mis placing one pass. I'd love to see the stats.
And don't forget he played in the most difficult position to make your debut - the engine room. Truly I was amazed.
Long way to go, and I'm sure it will not be all plain sailing, but a good start.
Just shows that if you are good enough then age don't matter. In Plessis, Nemeth and Insua we have three players that will save us millions. All three will probably be in the PL squad next season week in week out, not playing every week but in the squad. Then we have Pacheco, Eccleston and Bruna to follow after them. The future looks good.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

As one poster has already said - let's not go overboard. It was great to see a young player slot right into the first team and not look at all out of place, but let's just leave it at that. This whole "he is potentially exceptional... will save us millions" stuff just builds up unnecessary hype.

Yes it builds up hype but it needs to be said. I think the coaches at the club must have reminded him to stay level headed anyway.Originally posted by keniget View PostAs one poster has already said - let's not go overboard. I would argue that and say Owen.

Nothing wrong with his passing. I recorded the game and watched it having known the end result so just concentrated on watching Plessis, and he was outstanding. Looked very composed and as I said earlier, I only remember him misplacing one pass.Originally posted by Abro100 View PostSee i only seen half an hour of the game and he looked rubbish. His passing was slack as Lucas's
And when he did pass, it was by and large on the deck and to feet, whilst he had to contend with pulling passes out the air. Watch the fll game on LFCtv and see if you don't change your opinion.Forwards.......

Huh? Are you being sarcastic? It was without a doubt one of the greatest debut's from a young player who's never made a first team appearence anyone will ever see in their whole life. Condsidering the opposition, it makes it more remarkable.Originally posted by Abro100 View PostSee i only seen half an hour of the game and he looked rubbish. You either:
1) Watched a totally different game
2) Don't know who Plessis was, or
3) Know nothing whatsoever about football
I know which one my money is on...
