    Pennant and Riise

I hope to god that we will not see them in a Reds shirt ever again.

Both are lothargic and prance around the ****ing pitch like they don't give a ****.

Their attitudes are absolutely ****ing abysmal.

Fair enough, we have some players who ain't up to scratch, but most are honest footballers, but these two take the ****ing piss.

You can add voronin to that

I'd agree with that. If we just got rid of those two and Voronin we'd have improved our squad.

They'll both be sold in the summer.

Overall we played pretty well in that game.

Ok, so Pennant, Riise and Voronin didn't, but none of them have been getting many games recently, and as a whole the squad did a good job today. All 3 will almost certainly be sold in the summer, but they had to play today, and the end result will do fine in the circumstances.

            We'll beat this lot midweek.

Oh, post match interview - Crouch "I've got ambitions to be playing every game, we'll see what happens in the summer". He's off.

You don't go from being Brazilian player of the year, at his age, to being a bad player. He's done very well in some games, less well in others, but he was up against one of the best in the league in Fabregas today, and he put in a lot of effort to get forward to support Crouch in the first half. Moving him on after what, a dozen or so league starts, would be lunacy

Plessis distribution was very nervy. Good debut but I wouldn't go overboard.

I agree, Vonarin , Risse and Pennant are just not good enough. But Liverpool played well today, Crouch was very impressive.

I think for Lucas to come in this season and play as many games as he has done is testement to him. Remember, we let Momo go in January which must have had something to do with Lucas's efforts coming in.

Pennant and Voronin coulld go tomorrow for me and I wouldn't be bothered one bit. I've always had a bit of a soft spot for Riise but he isn't good enough in the long term.

Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!

we all know he'll be given another season, i just don't see anything special about him. sure as hell needs to get stronger though, brazillian player of the year or not

Sure he does. That doesn't happen overnight though does it? I thought, in a midfield with the equally lightweight Benny and off form Pennant & Riise, and a kid having his debut (and looking shakey in possession at times early on), he had a very difficult job to do today, and did it ok. Not that well, but not badly, he was ok. In that standard of game, with his experience and age, that's fine. Certainly not time yet to be adding him to the Riise, Pennant and Voronin list

He's only a few months older than Plessis isn't he?

He is playing within himself IMO. Keeping it simple. Playing a holding role and just trying to be tidy and not give the ball away. I have been impressed with him. For a lad his age to break into the team and play so many games in his first season is very impressive. I don't think Scholes, Gerrard or Fabregas set the world alight in their first seasons. His confidence will grow and we will see more from him next year no doubt.
                        Dare we believe

Lucas isn't showy or as aggressive as masher but he is tidy and promising. I think its time we molded players like him rather than giving up on them because they dont score screamers every week and dont dribble.

We should be investing in him.

I'd agree that Pennant, Riise, and Voronin were poor today and have been for a while to be honest, hopefully these players will be moved on in the summer.

As for the comments about Lucas I think you are being a little harsh on him, he's been a decent player without being spectacular but he hasn't had a full season in this country yet, but he has shown enough, we wouldn't have sold Sissoko if Rafa and the coaches weren't confident he was a better prospect
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

                              Lucas

Lucas was focused on defending in today's game. Nothing spectacular but if anyone has been noticing all his games he has an eye for a pass. He has the vision to split open the defence. Think Voronin today....

All he has to do is thread through one/two killer pass a game and I'm sure Rafa will be a happy man.
