Of joy I guess. You must have smashed them up in the excitement that you now would be able to blame Reina.Originally posted by Nic83 View PostSecond thing. I had a minute of smashing up stuff in my room first.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Is it impossible for half you lot to admit any fault or anything bad about any of our players? Fact of the matter is for a goal keeper to be beaten at his near post from a shot hit from near the by line and about 10 yards right of the post is bad, just plain bad. I bet if you asked Reina himself, he will tell you he wasn't happy.
His decision making is not good as has been shown when there are crosses into the box, he doesn't know whether to stay or go and he often chooses the wrong one resulting in a goal or a chance. This is not a bad patch, he's always had this vulnerability. He also has a number of rash moments like at newcastle last year.
He is a good shot stopper, good on one on ones and a good distributor/kicker so the balance of all these things makes him a good keeper but far from a great one IMO.
Now no doubt I'll be bombarded with insults as my post is only 50% positives as is the norm on here,so this is my sign off in this thread.Last edited by Nic83; 09-04-08, 12:05 PM.

He's one of the best goalkeepers we've ever had, he's good in the air, sweeps up at the back stopping numerous attacks before they have started and his distribution is usually terrific. Look at his clean sheet record and the fact that a shot hit at 70mph from 8 yards out that hit's his knee and goes in is disappointing shows the usual level of his goalkeeping.
But rather than have an inane argument with you I shall bow down to your greater knowledge and snidy put downs of our own players.

The reason why you are being insulted Nic is because of your obvious delight with being able to post a "told you so" type message in this thread as soon as the goal went in - like that was all that mattered to you at the time.
FTR I think Reina could have done better for the goal, but Diaby didn't half hit it hard, and whilst Reina could have guarded the near post better, he'd have to have had super human reaction speeds to stop it from the position he was in.
And as for none of us being able to criticise our own players, I notice in the Alonso thread which is criticising him, you pop up with "Alonso = god" so are you denying his (current) failings then?

His decision making has been worse since Skrtel started to play week in week out.
Skrtel don't know the zonal defending bit inside out yet and that means that it will also affect Reina.
It's a team game you know.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
