Getting rid of Anelka was also a bad idea. Not tying Owen down the season before he left(If it was possible) was a clanger aswell.

I was one of Gerard Houllier biggest supporters and still hold a very dear spot for him in my memories but I confess ... I knew we were playing **** effective football

He also called Hobbs (despite knowing nothing of him in the reserves) "the new Alan Hansen" after his league debut at Anfield earlier this season.

          He's sticking by that one.
He must have the potential to be a great football tv pundit then!

              I also have many.

I really believed that Cisse was going to be the one for us - he had it all, or so I thought, electric pace, a great shot, strength, and goals. He was unlucky with us with his injuries though.

I also expected a very big future for us from Milan Baros when I first saw him - the £3m+ price we paid was a bargain at the time anyway, but he never fulfilled my expectations with us.

Smicer was another, I really thought he was going to follow on from McManaman and better him by becoming a truly great wide player for us. He was unlucky with injuries and still feel he contributed to the cause (thanks for Istanbul Vladi).

The same could be said for Morientes - he had a top quality career and having been top CL scorer before joining us I expected big things from Nando. Just wasn't up to the pace and strength of the game over here though was he!

The two Fench gems were my biggest 'errors' though. Le Tallec was meant to be the one, the new kid on the block. He was going to be the one with the vision, the intelligence, and the skill to unlock defences, whilst Pongolle was going to be the one with the pace and scoring all those goals. They were the stars of the junior tournament the summer before joining us, and were going to be better than the Cristiano Ronaldo's of this world! Under a different manager who knows what might have happened, but they're gone now. Pongo can still become a very good player as I do rate that lad and appreciated what he did for us whilst here (Olympiakos was one memory), but Le Tallec seems to have gone back to pub football hasn't he!

I still dream of the next title victory, and maybe, just maybe Fernando can produce the goods for us to get there. One day people... just hope I'm still alive to see it!

Add me to the Le Tallec club. But even worse, I still think he could make it

I did think Morientes would be a hit.

And thought Smicer would be great after seeing him play in France.

I did think Torres would be a hit though..and I was furious when Ged wasted Jari Litmanen, one of the classiest players to grace Anfield.

The Souness years had be crying, as did GH during his last year.

Oh, and I thought Pennant could be decent at right wing

I thought we were finished when Keegan left. Kenny who?

                      I may have been wrong.

I fully beleived that Baros, Cisse and Morientes would fail in my mind but allowed my heart to convince me they would be world beaters.

I was made up when we signed Cisse,Baros and Morientes.we seem to have the ability to ruin strikers except for Torres.

I was very, very excited when we signed El-Hadji Diouf.

I once owned a Stan Collymore replica shirt.

I questioned Rafa's wisdom in signing Peter Crouch.

At half time in Istanbul, I thought we were going to lose. (Crazy I know )

I nicked someone's beer in Athens. (wanted to get that off my chest for a while)

There were a couple of hours in work on the morning that the Klinsmann story broke, that I and several others thought Rafa was going to resign.
