Just want to say that he deserves special praise for keeping going through what has obviously been a difficult time on the pitch for him and he really deserves credit for adapting to this new position and doing a very satisfactory job. He may not be a fabulous player but the man certainly has heart and I think there will be a squad role for him next year.

never stops trying in fairness to him. immense last night"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.
"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

There's no point in backtracking on your general negativity and praising our players now.
Good shout though, for all the stick he's taken he's been a very important cog in the LFC machinery in recent months. Everyone needs a player with the heart and intensity that Dirk brings to the squad.

Not just that but his intelligence was rewarding last night
In the dying moments when we were leading 3-2 Kuyt and Carra broke down the right wing and Gerrard and Babel were screaming for a cross into the box. Kuyt did the right thing, he ignored them and took the ball to the corner flag and tried his best not to give the ball away. He kept the ball when we needed to keep it and he fought incredibly hard for the win

The thing that's impressed me the most apart from his immense work rate, is how he has not hidden, not let his head drop, with all the stick & lack of goals he could easily have got disheartened, but no, he's just kept at it.
The sign of a good proffessional. Who ever we bring in , Kuyt imo deserves a place in the squad.

Couldn't agree more. Even in the first half hour when we were in danger of being completely over-run he never hid at all, and once we had a foothold in the game I thought he was magnificent. He'll never have the most consistent touch or silky skills, but if we've ever had a player with more heart and a better team ethic Id love to hear who they were.Originally posted by -V- View PostNot just that but his intelligence was rewarding last night

I think Kuyt gets unfair criticism for a lot of aspects of his game. His goals scoring and composure in front of goal has been unsatisfactory and he has never had blistering pace but I think in the roles he has played for us of late he has really excelled. His work rate has been high but more important than that it his movement and effort has been intelligently directed and has produced assists and prevented opposition attacks.
Ultimately I have always been a fan but it is heartening to see that he has come through what was a rough patch in his form and that everyone is acknowledging his contribution now."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

Yeah Kuyt had a good game never stopped working and chasing people, I think he's adapted quite well to that position and that it suits him more than shouldering the goal scoring burdenOriginally posted by -V- View PostAlthough i didnt say they were fast, you would be surprised at how quick those 2 really are. Carra was like a 100m sprinter down the right last night
Also I thought Carragher did well yesterday in getting forward from fullback, he's been critisised for not getting forward alot when he played at right back. But playing out of his natural position and in such a big game it could have been tempting to play a safety first game, but he overlapped whenever possibleThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
