Liverpool's Torres reveals cloak-and-dagger move

Liverpool striker Fernando Torres has revealed his move from Atletico Madrid was genuine cloak-and-dagger stuff last summer.

Torres told DiarioSport that upon arriving on Merseyside for his medical Liverpool locked him in a flat with his girlfriend for 48 hours and was not allowed to leave - even for a meal.

But once his medical was approved by club doctors and the fee finalised with Atletico, Torres was cleared to appear in public for his signing ceremony.
