I think we'll win tonight and i feel that we will need to as going on previous games i cant see us scoring at the Bridge and i think theyll play well down there.

2-0 would make me feel a lot easier about the second leg and i think we'll do it tonight.

Listen up ladies- I'll give a quick lesson in probability- If I roll a dice, the probability that I get a 6 is 1/6 . If I roll a dice three times, the probability that I get 3 6s is 1/216. However if I roll the dice twice and get 2 6s that doesn't mean, that if I roll it again, the probability of getting a 6 is 1/216. It's 1/6, because the first 2 events are now independant and do not effect the probability of the third time- It's the same with the match tonight. -You're welcome.

I'm not sure I understand. Could you explain it using an analogy involving pigeons? Thankyou.

What's the probability I'll ever read one of your posts and not think you overestimate yourself?

            I reckon it's a lot less than 1/216.
            .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Damn right. I use the old rule, you know, the one that says 2 evenly matched sides is

              A 50/50

              so we're 9/10

No problem- If the probability of getting an s.t.i. after riding a pigeon is 1/2. Then, after riding 3 pigeons in a row, the probability of you catching something is 7/8. But suppose, you **** 2 and then go to the doctor who test's you and tells you that you haven't cought anything. Then suppose, you decide to ride the last one- What's the probability of you catching something????

With this being their fourth Semi-Final in the last five seasons you have to think they'll get to a final sooner or later. I go into this match with confidence of getting a result tonight, but I think having the away leg at the Bridge makes it really difficult for us, more so than last season for sure.

I think I've cought your drift now but I'm still a little unsure. Could you use an analogy involving spelling mistakes on internet forums? Thanks.

Much as I am loathed to reprimand someone who has both referenced Voltaire and come up with a sparkling pigeon/STI analogy on the same thread it would be appreciated if you could remove the condescending tone from your posts mr.barry. Cheers.

It's not done on a turn basis, football is played to decide the outcome. We're going to **** all over them. Glad to be of help

Wow, Voltaire. You're clearly a man of learning.

I could say "a learned fool is more foolish than an ignorant fool" but instead my reply will be patient and moderate.
