Almost my exact thoughtsOriginally posted by anfieldanfield View PostAre you lot joking ?
I was there and he was ****e. Misplaced passes all game, offered very little support for Mascherano and didn't contribute enough going forward.
He has been 'out of form' for too long now. I'd sell.
I was there too and i thought he had a very average game, kept making really bad decisions
Guess it looked different on the telly. Weird

AnfieldAnfield is a known hater of Alonso. He would say that even if alonso performed miracles. It takes a certain mind to appreciate the capabilities of Alonso, ideally a mind of someone who has played as a midfielder. He is not the type to stand out unless you know what you're looking for.
colossal last night and as I always say, even an out of form Alonso is a key player and one of the most valuable in the prem. Sublime footballer and I bet Barca would pay in excess of £30 mil for him as a team like that appreciates footballing genius and he's exactly what they need

Im a fan of Xabi, i think he is a class player but he is off-form. Maybe my judgement of his performance last night is wrong. Im just saying he didnt look that great to me.
I think he needs to start getting forward more and get his shooting boots on. For me he passes backwards too much these days and often makes the wrong decisions. Thankfully not on the scale of that prat Riise though

He's never liked Xabi and sometimes people just see what they wanna see.Originally posted by Dhav View PostIs AA on a windup?
There's no doubt his influenced waned in the last 20 minutes or so but, as has been said already, he wasn't the only one .Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

That would be a gr8 deal for barca but not for us. Alonso is worth 15m IMO but Henry at his age would be closer to 10m. I'd love Henry with us BTW, him and Babel as left sided options would be fantastic plus Babel could learn so much from him.Originally posted by Joe Le Toff View PostIn a swap deal with Henry is what im hearing although i have no hard evidence to back that up with whatsoever.Dare we believe

true, he was immense, the passing and tackling was superb and his effort was only bettered by Kuyt. If he plays like that in the next leg then we will create chancesOriginally posted by pablo1981 View Post
Thats the best I have seen him play in years. Ive been one of the most vocal in calling for him to be sold this summer but if he plays like that consistenly there's no way I would sell him.
He was magnificent for me last night. He seems to be a couple of paces faster, showed some fantastic skills on the ball and his passing had that extra zip to it. He worked really hard and got stuck in.
For the first 20 minutes of the second half I thought we played some brilliant football and Alonso was at the heart of it all.
If only we had pushed on and knicked that 2nd goal things might have been oh so different.

A bit like you need to have played as a goalkeeper to appreciate Reina.Originally posted by Nic83 View PostAnfieldAnfield is a known hater of Alonso.
