We need to have an attacking threat from the full backs at Chelsea, and seeing as Riise will now probably be shot to pieces after last night i'd go Finnan right, Arbeloa left, Carra and Skrtel in the middle.

Don't care about Birmingham so Insua can play left back and I'll play right back.
Dreams come true. Without that possibility, nature would not incite us to have them.

Arbeloa, Skrtel, Sami and Carra as left back Carra has played here many times and has done a good job, he actually more offensive as a left back than a right back

Insua in the remaining Prem Games and riise/arbeloa at the bridge
Just look at the face: it's vacant, with a hint of sadness. Like a drunk who's lost a bet.

Last time Riise was shot to pieces he scored a cracker at Barcelona ... Let's hope history can repeat itself ...

              No Kuyt

He is key for us at the moment IMO don't think there is a player who hassles defences as much. He had cole rattled last night

I hate back threes. It's almost always a rubbish idea.

Seeing Aurelio go down was disappointing. As soon as he gets a decent run going and looks a decent player he becomes aflicted with an injury and he's out for two months. How unlucky can you be?

Heart sunk seeing Riise come on with so much of the game remaining. The man is not up to it. He is a liability. He shouldn't be playing longer than 5 mins in a game of such magnitude.

He's been a decent servant in 7 years, but should he never wear the red shirt again I for one will not be disappointed.

Last night I'd have been tempted to bring on Sami and move Arbeloa left and put Carra on the right, and that's probably what I'd do in the CL return at the Bridge. Insua for the rest of the league games please.

Same here. You just knew his presence on the pitch was going to cost us.

It's very frustrating because Riise would never have been on the pitch but for Aurelio's freakishly innocuous injury.

Absolutely Shaggy mate. When he came on I was wondering why Rafa didn't just bring on Sami and move Carra right and shift Aurelio to the left instead. Or even moved Carra to the left. I'd have sooner have Carra on the left that Riise. I know Fierce has defended Riise, but he cant tell me that Carra in the same position would have diverted that cross into his own goal?

I dont know if it's any kind of coincidence, but when Riise came on the game became much more stretched and they had a lot more space in our half. Now that could be down to tiredness, or it could be down to players being dragged out of position. If it's the latter, then Riise could be at fault somewhat, we know how often he gets dragged out of position, particularly upfield. Either way, Chelsea had the initiative in those last 20 mins or so, and I dont think Riise being there at that time is wholly coincidental.
