Also - according to Hodgson - Jari "isn't the type of player you want in a relegation scrap", or words to those extent.
Would've been nice to see him join in January, bang in a few goals and help them stay up. Ah well.

quality player at Ajax. Criminally underused with us and Barca
A mate of mine is a massive Ajax fan (lived in AMsterdam from about 94-97). Jari is his favourite player. He loves the guy, and i mean literally loves him

was at a cup match and by the dug out - think it was vignal that twisted his ankle - Ged shout for Jari to fill in the left wing slot defensivly Jari just sort of blanked him - got the feeling no love lost there big time

Houllier's use, or lack of Jari was when I started to turn on Ged.
I suppose he had the sense to sign him, but not enough to play him instead of Heskey.
