One thing that rankles with me was bringing on Pennant for Yossi. He had absolutely no effect on the game and wasted a sub when we could have brought on Crouch later on.

I know he had a great game at the weekend but he's never done it on the biggest stage.

Didn't understand some of the subs Rafa made; and as others have said it's the fine margins that got us, but it was those fine margins that got us through the last few times too.

Only positive is that we don't have to "endure" 90 minutes in a final against Man U.

Quite a negative look about it, but would rather lose to Chelsea in the semi's than United in the final.

I see people say they are happy with the performance but I am gutted.We were terrible in the first half and kept no possesion, when we got the goal chelsea were a bit shocked and we just held out until the end of 90 minutes.All the goals we conceded were terrible and after the penalty our players all but gave up and let them have another goal almost immmediatly.

I think carra,pepe,arbeloa and torres played well and to their capabilities.

When it went to 1-1 we had the game in our hands but we threw it way by hitting long balls instead of just keeping possesion.

Very poor first half.

We showed great character coming back.

Its taken me a while to realise this but some things put football into perspective lads, we'll live to fight another day no doubt. We are Liverpool, we will be back.

On another note, for all the media coverage and his angry comments, that was the fist time Drogba hasn't dived in a match for a long long time.

lost respect? get over yourself he took him off and replaced him with a player that scored. Good god we just lost a big football match. I know under this man we have won far more big matches than we have lost.

Am struggling to understand what happened in extra time. I really thought when torres got the goal that we would step up a gear. It never happened. When we got to the first period of extra time it was as if we were just hoping for penalties to arrive. Obviously chelsea had different plans. I didn't think chelsea had that in them to be honest. We have rode our luck a lot this season but as sooon as jar scored that og last week it ran out. I just pray that DIC come to the rescue because to compete with the mancs and the chavs we need to bring in quality players in a number of positions.

That squad isn't good enough. I don't think anybody would disagree with that.

That squad though was one goal away from another Champions League final.

We should be ****ing proud tonight. If we can improve the squad in the summer and cull the deadwood, next year we could be winning the trophy again.

My thought

Riise - good riddance , what was he doing for both of Drogba's goals
Aberloa - not good enough, gave away the ball and seems to lose concentration
Alonso - very poor season on the whole
Kuyt - works hards but not good enough
Penant - not good enough

Rafa got it wrong tonight, taken off are top goalscorer and leaving Kuyt on the pitch.

Hopefully Rafa learns and is given a huge kitty to bring in quality first team players not squad fillers
