Paddy aside (although yes he was a legend, I had his name on three of my shirts, and still wear my old man's long sleeve 'ecru' shirt when playing five a side, which forces me to try a lot more long range shots that I should do. ) Barry is signing.
Dreams come true. Without that possibility, nature would not incite us to have them.

My son Foster is a fan of soccer. He was a goaltender. His brother was a defenseman.

I'm waiting for Alves to arrive at John Lennon or Rafa has landed in Madrid to bring Heinze to Liverpool

Nothing 100% yet, but the guys in work (the Echo) who are in 'the know' have given me the nod that he's coming. Basically he wants to challenge himself and thinks we're as good a place as any to try that. I think he'd be a good signing, always liked him.

I hope he does, it'd be great seeing them in the Champions League.

Leave him alone. He's the coffee maker for Tony Barrett.

End of the road for outspoken Berger
by Tom Adams, 06 May 2008
Patrik Berger has been told he has played his last game for Aston Villa after recommending that club captain Gareth Barry join Liverpool, a statement manager Martin O’Neill has described as ‘ludicrous’.

Berger’s current contract is up in the summer but he will play no part for Villa in the final game of the season against West Ham on Sunday as a result of his statements to the media that have so angered his manager at Villa Park.

In response to Liverpool making a bid for Barry, the former Anfield star stated: “If I was in Gareth’s position I would go tomorrow.”

The midfielder apologised to his manager on Tuesday morning but O’Neill is still furious with Berger and will deny him a final bow for the club on Sunday.

“I was really disappointed and surprised that Patrik, with all his experience of dealing with the press, would make such an inappropriate comment,” O’Neill told the club’s official website.

“The sad aspect of it is that we are playing Patrik’s wages for him to recommend one of our players to another football club. It’s ludicrous.

“I think Pat realises that now and he’s apologised. He said he didn’t mean a great deal of harm but the harm’s been done and he won’t be playing any part in proceedings from here on in.”

Villa are determined to keep hold of their captain and O’Neill dismissed Liverpool’s offer for a player who has been consistently impressive for both club and country this season
