Except Reina has actually played in the league all season.... So it's not really anything like your example.

As i've said before, if a striker was to win the golden boot award three years in a row, you'd be pretty sure he was a bit good.

      If so it's utter bollocks.
No, of course he deserves credit just not as much as people give him. It's down to the team as a whole and should be called something else. That award cannot and does not give you a proper analysis of a keepers performance during the season.

My point exactly, put the dude between the sticks for us now and I dare say he'd be contending for that prestigious award despite being crap

That's too factual and football isn't about 'facts' alone, that's what I always tell Sydney.

It's clear to most that Pepe is a fabulous keeper. The way he commands his area and acts as an additional defender, sweeping everything up at the back is a joy to watch. It also allows our defense to push higher up the pitch and apply Rafa's tactical game to perfection.

No it's a direct comparison between how many shut-outs each keeper in the league has made every season. To win it three seasons running shows that Reina is an excellent goalkeeper, regardless of how good or bad the team around him is.

The top scorer award is also slightly flawed IMO as the forwards in the lesser teams are at a major disadvantage. It should be run on some sort of points system.

But it is more accurate as if reflects finishing ability of the individual. It should though,a s I say be done on a goal/chance points ratio

Yep, poor Jerzy was a victim of Houllier's all out attacking football...

Mate are you really that stupid, seriously? Can you not see that a keeper in a stronger team behind a stronger defense has more of achance of winning it?

Therefore, the keeper that wins it is not necessarily the best keeper. FFS like. I'm done with you mate, you don't seem to have any common sense at all

And then that would totally ignore the fact that some strikers are much more efficient at making chances for themselves, making the right runs etc etc.

No system is perfect but for a keeper to win the Golden Glove three seasons running shows that he's pretty exceptional no matter what the flaws of the award are.
