    No he wouldn't.

Dudek came into the team last season to play two games in about five days. Before that Reina had kept about 8 clean sheets on the trot.

    What happened?

We let nine ****ing goals in. NINE.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

That was him at his worst. IMO he would be right up there. you should have seen him the other night for Real, shades of Istanbul.

As a matter of interest, anyone find the stats on Dudeks goals conceeded for the time he was here?

Last 5 keepers of the year

              2008: James
              2007: Van Der Saw
              2006: Given
              2005: Cech
              2004: Friedel

Case closed, the golden glove means **** all, I'd say one of that lot got the 'golden glove' in the season they won keeper of the year, that 1 being Cech.
Reina was not here in 2004 and 2005

That award is purely opinions. Not facts. The fact is that Reina kept the most clean sheets and therefore contributed to being part of the best defence

James and Given only won it because they had the most work to do and had to make the most saves. That doesnt mean they are better. Its simply really Nic

              Your talking **** here

No 'ass' licking going on here 'bruv', it's just that he knows his onions and you're either clueless, or you just post for a reaction...or both.

Nothing to do with my point, my point was that only 1 of those keepers got the golden glove when they won goalkeeper of the year

They won it because they were the best keepers, just as cech did and he hardly had the most saves to make that year

Look kids we can settle this:

Would Itandje have won the Golden Gloves this season?

I believe Reina is one of the top 3 keepers in the world (the best for me personally, but we could probably find another 2 great gks).

                        1. Keeper is the main part of team defence, he commands the df!
                        2. Making "brilliant" saves all the time doesn't mean he's a great keeper, it can mean he just doesn't know how to make it easier! Pepe catches way more balls than other keepers which is a big difference. A corner or counter-attack is quite a difference.
                        3. Reina is also very good with his feet and can pass the ball well. He often starts quick counter-attacks. (can also throw well so sometimes he just throws the ball across our half)
                        4. He also is a great shot stopper.

                        5. He's also taller than Parry

How many cleansheets did Reina have and who was closest?

If second place was over 4 away, then yes he would have won it IMO.

the keeper of the year is not a yardstick to be honest.

james is undoubtadly a talented keeper. He has all the physical attributes to be the no1 in the world. hi is however not strong enough. He couldnt be a keeper for the top 4. it also showed for england when under pressue he buckles.

That is hte difference and one reason why Pepe is right up there.
