They've got £10m + players in every position.

So what they're close to our records. They haven't matched or gone past them yet have they?! Reading some threads on here can be right depressing at times. We ain't won the title for 18 odd years or something, yet they still haven't overtaken us. Take the rough with the smoothe.

For me Rafa is trying to buy the right players now, attacking full-backs and a striker. They may not be household names, but if they can do a half-decent job then we'll challenge for the title. Our main problem has been square pegs in round holes. If we have the right players in the right positions, ......watch out
This is probably the best post I've read from you mate.

We need to bite the bullet and deal it at this moment in time. The scum got what they wanted this season, but **** it, they nearly didn't. It's not exactly like they ran away with the PL or the CL is it? Come on Marky lad, we have some of the best players in the world playing for the side, players that the mancs would LOVE to call their own, we have untold potential to fulfil and nobody knows what is going to happen over the next three months.

Today has been a difficult day, admittedly. But I'm still glad I don't support those classless *******s, and remember, even after last night they are still in our shadow. We just have to keep them there, and there's no reason we can't Marky.

Next year we're going to nail them Manc *******s!! They're time is coming Marky lad.

Have some belief fella and get some fire in your belly. Now is the time to rise to the challenge.

I had the pleasure to be in a pub when they won last night Half the crowd couldn't work out if they'd won or not the clowns. Didn't watch a minute of the game, haven't seen any media all day, I've even left Manchester for a few days til it all blows over

No matter what the Mancs do in the next few yrs I`m still pround that OUR team have won the league 18 times and the European Cup/CL 5 times. We won those titles when the playing field was level, not like nowadays when Fergie and Grant can have any player they want at over inflated prices.

so true the 4 previous eu cup wins before 05 were all won in the straight nock out format,we all hate loseing to the manks but **** we beat everton lol and to me beating everton is far more important than the manks, beating them would be a bonus but nothing to get all riled up about......

dont forget a few years ago when we were beating the manks home and away but that all stoped when we sold danny murphy lol ,BRING BACK MURPHY

Totally agree. Did a quick count last night and I reckon the Mancs 14 players used cost approx £200 million. And they would have the cheek to criticise Chelsea's spending.

As the saying goes, we are only in the halfpenny place.

How well we did to get as far as we did!

Pain - tell me about it. I was there as a guest of Ford.

                    1. Moscow is a total **** hole (only the centre is anything to write home about (Krelim etc). Still huge poverty.
                    2. From what I saw the Chelsea fans outnumbered the mancs. I think it was down to the roman factor and loads of locals followed Chelski.
                    3. The atmospher was so sterile it was untrue. Remember Istanbul and all the flags on the running track - well there wasn't one flag in Moscow and the attempt by UTD was pathetic.
                    4. You could tell no one had travelled as there was no anti scouse bile coming from either set of supporters expect for that Chelsea Scouse free zone flag - piss poor attempt.
                    5. Stadium was **** - I've never seen so many police and army in one place. A total ring of steel with thousands of army conscripts (16 year olds) lining the route. It was ****ing worrying that these kids could quite easily have lost the plot and got trigger happy. Some of them were absolutely **** scared - honestly one was crying.
                    6. Hospitality excellent - I'm not a corporate bod as I won this trip but you had to be impressed. Met all sorts of players. Digger was in with Ford as the front man and even did a rap on stage. I'll post it on youtube later.
                    7. There were loads of scousers there - I kid you not.
                    8. To tired to carry on so may put something else on here later as I only got back an hour ago and need me pit.
                    9. One manc with his 20 year old lad were constantly goading everyone in the hotel waving a manc flag in front of everyone and winding them all up. He was warned and warned but didn't take notice so i promptly took the flag and ripped it to bits in front of him much to his horror. I'd just had enough. He was absolutely gutted and in tears the dickhead but serves the ****er right. I then got a standing ovation from everyone in the bar - he must have ****ed everyone off.
                    10. Going to bed - ZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
If I had two lives...I'd give them both to you.

Champion leagues are hard to win, I thought Barca would dominate after 2006 but look what happened, injuries, loss of desire, infighting with the players. And Fergie cant go on forever, Ronaldo is making a bigger pratt of himself as every days goes by, and he will be off soon, but even if he isnt we are closing the gap on them in the league we have proven to be the superior team in Europe over the last few years.

A great insight, thanks for sharing.

I actually feel a bit better now, especially after point 9 (above).
